We were lucky to catch up with Alireza Jadidi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alireza , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
Persistence is my armor. Despite the haters and nay-sayers, I focus on my vision and passion for music. I remind myself that every great artist faced doubt and criticism before they rose. I turn negativity into fuel, pushing harder every day. My roots in Tehran taught me resilience — this journey is mine alone, and I refuse to let anyone else write my story.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Alireza Jadidi, born on September 20, 2003, in Tehran, Iran. I am an independent musician, composer, and music producer specializing in instrumental and traditional Iranian music fused with electronic dance genres. My passion lies in blending the rich heritage of Persian classical music with modern electronic beats to create a fresh, unique sound that pushes the boundaries of contemporary Iranian music. As one of the few Iranian artists working professionally at this intersection, my mission is to expand the reach of Persian instrumental music globally and introduce new styles that resonate with both traditional and modern audiences.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities that shaped my journey as a musician are resilience, creativity, and cultural awareness. Resilience has helped me overcome challenges and stay focused despite setbacks. Creativity allows me to blend traditional Persian music with modern electronic sounds, creating a unique style. Cultural awareness keeps me grounded and respectful of my roots while pushing boundaries. For those starting out, my advice is to stay persistent, never stop experimenting, and deeply understand the culture behind your art—this fusion is where true innovation happens.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The biggest challenge I face right now is blending traditional Iranian music with modern electronic dance genres in a way that feels authentic and innovative. It’s a delicate balance between honoring cultural heritage and pushing musical boundaries. To overcome this, I stay deeply connected to my roots through continuous study of classical music, while embracing new technologies and sounds fearlessly. Persistence, creativity, and openness to experimentation are my tools to break barriers and introduce a fresh sound to the world.
