Meet Alison Pandora

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alison Pandora. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alison, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Developing confidence and self-esteem is something I continue to work on daily. Affirmations, nature, grounding, breath work, yoga, meditation, and exercise, are tools that help enhance these traits.

Cultivating a genuine love for myself through daily self-care, healthy associations, inspiring books, useful quotes, and a healthy reward system with myself also assist in building confidence and self-esteem.

Being completely honest with myself, and radical acceptance of who I am in this moment helps to build these skills that were not always second nature to me. Being raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, my parents had some very strict rules. Growing up I often heard the phrase, “If you can’t think right for yourself, we will think for you.” This was said whenever I expressed a thought, a sentence or an action they disagreed with.

As an adult, knowing that it is our responsibility to take our power back, I did exactly that. I now align myself with Source and Universal laws. Every day is a new chapter, a new start, a chance to love myself again. I look at my reflection often, I thank the person I see, state believable affirmations to myself and align my actions with love, faith, and truth.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

The practice of yoga & meditation has impacted my life in more ways than I can describe in one article. Being a forever student, as well as having the honor of being a teacher of yoga & meditation, allows me to play my part in elevating society. I believe our negative thoughts and actions are wrapped up in the way we view ourselves, our self-worth. Studying, and applying the skills learned through yoga, meditation, and the movement of energy allows us to see things more clearly for teacher and student. Teaching self love, healthy coping skills, and useful asana can be uplifting for all involved. I love that!

Allowing my voice as an author to be heard, is my latest adventure. My current book is being written as a gift to myself, and the world. This current work is a memoir that reads like fiction, and is intertwined with truth, humor, useful tips, and tools. It highlights my personal process of acceptance, forgiveness, and love.

The goal in writing my first book is to elevate myself, creating impactful change within my being and surrounding life. From studying the Universal Laws, I know that my goal of changing the world for the better is possible. Change starts with us as individuals. Starting to make small significant changes within ourselves, our own truth, our own hearts, our own households and actions I learned is a key step. From there, the ripple effect takes over. My faith is anchored in this truth.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1: Knowing the only constant is change

2: Deep breathing, unclenching my jaw and somatic work with a professional

3: Being truthful, believing in myself & the Universe despite current situations.

If you are early in your journey in self-love, acceptance, or growing a new mindset, a business or program, being your own genuine support system is crucial. Having others who align with your mission can also help you stay on track. Listening to motivating talks while working helps to form positive thought processes, that lead to elevating action.

Motivating talks and truthful experiences presented by people like Lisa Nichols, Les Brown, Eddie Pinero, Bashar, Louise Hayes, help to align my thoughts and actions with love and truth. Please explore what works best for you on this journey we call life. There is not one cookie cutter fit for what works. Please keep going, take breaks, start again as often as you need. Be good to you. Sending love your way.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

Spilled Milk by K.L. Randis, helped me to pack away my shame and take a further step into my power. Reading someone else’s truth that was not so “pretty” was a great example in accepting my experiences and myself as a whole being.

Works and speeches by Maya Angelou, and Jannette McCurdy’s book, I’m Glad My Mom Died also play a significant role in my journey. I’m so thankful for the strength and courage these authors used to share their stories. The lessons from these books continue to change my life for the better. Looking forward to seeing the impact my personal story will make.
