Meet Alison Pothier and Jules Williams

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful husband and wife team, Alison Pothier and Jules Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with this magical couple below.

Alison and Jules, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Individually and together as a couple, developing our confidence and self-esteem required us to do our inner work. It still does.

As coaches, in order to be able to support others in doing the same, we had to first rediscover and retrieve our own authentic selves … the souls we knew ourselves to be inside had our external worlds not so heavily defined that for us. To then freely express those true selves into our worlds, we had to take responsibility for the stories inside us that undermined our belief that our real ‘Me’ could – and would – ever be wholly loved and embraced.

This was a healing process.

We inherently believe that the external world is living feedback of our internal reality. Therefore, to bolster confidence and self-esteem we work from the inside out. Whether personally or professionally, we have discovered that working with the subconscious to help us reconcile stories and build better beliefs is the most impactful way to break patterns, improve self-conception and derive better outcomes for ourselves.

Through intuitively-guided self-visualization and cellular healing, we accessed our own subconscious to help ourselves understand, reconcile, rewrite and ultimately ‘right’ the stories and beliefs that underpinned our self worth. These stories may have been anchored in our cellular memory from this lifetime, our ancestral lineage or over hundreds of lifetimes. To us, the source didn’t matter as much as the healing itself.

Honing confidence and self-esteem is an imperative building block in the process of self-actualization.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other question, we had for you?
Owners of Inside Out Retreats, we coach private and executive individuals toward self-actualization and transformational change by working from the inside out. Located in Malibu, California, we serve clients nationally and internationally as intuitive and executive coaches, retreat facilitators and group trainers in intuition and personal development.

A native of Wales in the UK, Jules is a lifelong psychic intuitive and coach focusing his gifts on helping people to understand and overcome their emotional history and its imprint on their lives. He dedicates his work to helping people reconcile and rewrite their stories.

Jules spent five years on Psychic Television as one of its founding psychics and in parallel, maintained a successful coaching practice at the Hale clinic in London and in the Costwolds. He has authored a book called “The Weigh Forward” addressing the subconscious emotional patterns impacting one’s ability to lose or gain weight. Also, a filmmaker, Jules directed, produced and creatively edited three seasons (35 episodes) of a television series called “Living the Life” for Sky Arts Showcase as well as a Channel 4 acclaimed documentary on Britain’s national acting treasure, Leslie Phillips called, ‘Hello: A Portrait of Leslie Phillips’.

We met in London where Alison had been living and working for twenty years. A native of Massachusetts, Alison was featured alongside world visionaries such as Sir Richard Branson, Archbishop Desmond TuTu, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jack Canfield and others in the feature-length film, Choice Point.

Working with conscious and subconscious constructs, Alison supports clients going through periods of change, transition and personal transformation. Passionate about authenticity and self-actualization, Alison helps clients to achieve inspired results through a strong sense of personal empowerment, self-identity, intuitive self-belief, energetic congruence, aspirational fulfillment and emotional self-awareness.

Whether professional or personal in nature, we develop and deliver profound breakthrough experiences through retreats, workshops, events and one-to-one sessions online and in person around the globe.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In our personal journeys as well as our relationship, the three areas of awareness most foundational to us are intuition, emotion and energy.

Each of these are integral to our shared passion for self-actualization.

We believe that intuition is our superpower. No matter how we arrive for our clients, our work is anchored in intuition to help others own and hone their own. A path to recovering one’s sense of magic, our recommendation for anyone starting out on their transformational journey is to proactively engage with your intuition for the purpose of enhancing self-belief, self-trust and empowered self-navigation.

That said, those a little further along in their journey will discover that we don’t get far down the path before we face the need to own and reconcile the emotional framework and beliefs that undermine our ability to trust and believe in our intuition and ourselves. For instance, emotions relating to feelings of childhood abandonment, self-worth challenges and self-betrayal surface for many of us along the way. Emotional awareness is helpful in this regard, but does not in itself break the patterns creating our doubts and despair. Learning to work consciously with the subconscious in order to honestly and energetically reconcile our stories, we create paths to not only heal our emotional pasts, but also to nurture new beliefs and realize better outcomes for ourselves.

Finally, in understanding our energy – whether by exploring acupuncture, energy healing, chi gung, Emotional Freedom Technique or other energy-based practices or modalities – one can begin to experience the role of energy in our lives and begin to nurture your own. In so doing, you will soon discover the energy of your beliefs, the resonance of truth, the energy of emotion and the energy of health and soon you will understand what it means to become wholly and energetically congruent.

Things simply don’t add up until they add up within us. We cannot actualize nor realize what we haven’t honed within. To be congruent, we must add up emotionally, energetically and intuitively. To think better is not enough, we must believe better … and that requires the heart along with the subconscious that informs it to align to our truth.

To stand in that place within us is to stand in our confidence and self-esteem.

How would you describe your ideal client?
As coaches, our ideal clients are those who are ready and willing to do their inner work. They understand their role in the co-creation of and collusion with what is playing out in their lives and on their stage and are ready to take responsibility for their healing as an act of self-empowerment as opposed to self-victimization. When we understand we are the architects of our stories, we soon discover that we are also our own magic wands.
