Meet Alixandria Lee

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alixandria Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alixandria, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Finding my purpose has been a journey shaped by my desire to uplift others and create meaningful connections. Growing up in a family that valued empathy and service, I naturally gravitated towards helping those in need. Throughout my career, I worked directly with victims of domestic violence and individuals struggling with mental illness. These experiences taught me the importance of resilience, support, and understanding in the face of hardship.

Alongside my professional work, I volunteered with the elderly, people with dementia, those facing hunger, the LGBTQIA community, among others. These efforts expanded my perspective on compassion and reinforced my commitment to making a difference for vulnerable populations. This combination of work and volunteerism helped me realize how to use the therapeutic and coaching certifications I had pursued earlier, and to more fully understand my purpose: to help others find strength and offer support during their most challenging times.

It wasn’t until I faced my own personal struggles, including a difficult divorce while raising two young children, that I fully embraced my purpose. My journey of self-discovery reinforced my passion for empowering others, helping me integrate my professional skills and personal experiences.

Today, I channel my purpose through my business, EmpathLink, where I offer companionship and coaching services to those feeling disconnected or overwhelmed. Whether through my work or volunteer efforts, my purpose is centered around creating positive impact and fostering human connections. I’ve learned that purpose is not only about personal achievement but about lifting others and guiding them toward their own growth.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m the founder and CEO of EmpathLink, a Seattle-based business focused on providing companionship and coaching services that blend emotional support with professional guidance. My journey toward creating EmpathLink stemmed from a desire to help people overcome challenges and feel connected in a world that often feels isolating. I’ve always believed in the power of human connection, and through this venture, I foster genuine, platonic relationships that focus on well-being and personal growth.

What excites me most about EmpathLink is the variety of services I offer, both in-person and virtually. From companionship during events or outings to virtual coaching sessions, wellness accountability, and personalized requests, each service is designed to meet individual needs. My background in mindset coaching and therapeutic practices allows me to bring a unique approach to every interaction, ensuring clients feel supported, heard, and valued.

A key aspect of EmpathLink is its emphasis on holistic experiences. Whether it’s sharing a meal, going for a walk, or offering mindfulness and meditation sessions, each service is designed to provide comfort and connection. By expanding to virtual platforms, I’m able to offer coaching services to clients outside of Seattle, broadening my reach to help more people in need of guidance and support.

I’ve also introduced service bundles that offer flexibility for clients to mix and match offerings based on their specific needs. From daily check-in texts to personalized coaching, EmpathLink creates a supportive space where individuals can feel empowered to grow and thrive.

I’m excited to continue building meaningful connections and helping people through this journey. Whether you’re in Seattle or connecting virtually, EmpathLink is here to provide the genuine connection and guidance you’re looking for.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities and skills stand out as the most impactful: empathy, resilience, and the ability to create meaningful connections. Each of these played a key role in shaping both my personal and professional path, and they’ve helped me build the foundation for EmpathLink.

Empathy:
Empathy has been central to everything I do. It allows me to truly understand and connect with others, especially when they’re going through difficult times. I found that empathy wasn’t just about listening but about being present and showing up for people in meaningful ways.
Advice: For those early in their journey, I encourage you to actively practice empathy by putting yourself in others’ shoes. Engage in deep listening, ask open-ended questions, and show genuine interest in others’ stories. The more you do this, the better you’ll be at building trust and fostering connections that last.

Resilience:
Resilience has been my anchor through life’s challenges. From navigating a difficult divorce to balancing work and family, resilience has helped me push forward. It’s not about avoiding hardship but about learning how to bounce back and grow from those experiences.
Advice: To build resilience, embrace failure as a learning opportunity. Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in your potential, and remember that setbacks are often stepping stones to success. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it—building resilience takes time, and it’s okay to lean on others.

Creating Meaningful Connections:
The ability to create meaningful connections has been essential in building EmpathLink and fostering lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. These connections are built on trust, authenticity, and the willingness to be vulnerable.
Advice: To develop this skill, focus on being authentic in your interactions. People appreciate realness and transparency. Make an effort to connect with others beyond surface-level conversations, and take the time to understand what drives them. Building relationships takes time, but the rewards of creating deep, meaningful connections are well worth the effort.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my mom did for me was intentionally exposing myself and my siblings to a world of culture, ideas, and experiences from a young age. She made a conscious effort to regularly introduce us to a variety of perspectives—whether through global cuisine, media, or history. She also opened the door to different ideals on faith, spirituality, politics, and theories, encouraging us to explore and question what we learned.

This exposure gave me a worldview that has shaped who I am today. It allowed me to approach life with an expanded mindset, always open to growth and new perspectives. My mom instilled in me the importance of connection—not just with those around me but with the world at large. Thanks to her, I learned that remaining curious and embracing diversity in thought, culture, and experience leads to a richer, more meaningful life. This mindset has been crucial in my personal and professional journey, especially in building EmpathLink and fostering meaningful connections with others.
