Meet Aliyah Jones

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aliyah Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aliyah below.

Aliyah, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
To avoid burnout, I prioritize taking breaks from work and making sure to separate my personal and work life as much as possible. I find that when I’m able to recharge and do things that I enjoy outside of work, I’m much more productive and focused when I’m working. Additionally, I try to remember that the work I’m doing is not just for the present moment but also for the future. I am building a legacy for myself and my future family, which motivates me to keep pushing forward and stay focused on my goals.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As the designer and creative director of ARMINO WU, my main goal is to create timeless pieces that make a statement while still being functional and wearable. I’m always inspired by the beauty of the world around me, and I incorporate that inspiration into every collection.

What I find most exciting about my work is the ability to express myself through fashion and design, and to see how my pieces can make an impact on people’s lives. Whether it’s through boosting someone’s confidence or making them feel more comfortable and stylish, knowing that I’ve made a positive impact on someone’s day is truly rewarding.

At ARMINO WU, we’re always looking to grow and expand. We have some exciting new product launches coming up, as well as collaborations with other artists and creatives. We’re also planning on hosting some events to showcase our designs and connect with our community. Stay tuned for more updates!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

As the creative director and designer of ARMINO WU, I believe that three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were creativity, resilience, and adaptability. To succeed in this industry, you need to have a constant flow of new ideas, and the ability to pivot when things don’t go according to plan. My advice to those who are early in their journey is to always keep your creative juices flowing by staying inspired, pushing boundaries and taking risks. Resilience is also crucial, as there will be times where you may face obstacles or setbacks, but it’s important to stay positive and keep pushing forward. Finally, adaptability is key, as the fashion industry is constantly evolving and changing. Stay informed, keep learning, and be open to new ideas and experiences.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I have found that taking a step back and prioritizing tasks helps when I feel overwhelmed. I like to make a list of everything that needs to be done and then break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks. It’s also important to take breaks throughout the day and engage in self-care activities like exercise or meditation to help clear my mind and reduce stress. Another helpful strategy is to delegate tasks to team members or outsource to trusted professionals to lighten the workload. Ultimately, finding a balance between work and personal life is key to avoiding burnout and feeling overwhelmed.
