We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Allison Garrett a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Allison, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience for me comes from a lifetime of navigating some of life’s toughest storms. It’s not just about bouncing back—it’s about breaking through. I learned early on that the world wasn’t going to hand me a free pass, but each challenge taught me something valuable: the power of choice. I chose not to let my past define me, and I continue to choose to show up for myself, no matter what. My resilience is rooted in knowing that every setback is an opportunity to grow, reimagine, and restart. That’s where the real strength comes in—choosing to keep going, and unlocking a version of yourself you didn’t even know existed.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the Founder & CEO of Pamper Perfect Mobile Spa, where we bring the luxury of spa treatments right to your doorstep. What’s most exciting about this business is that it’s not just about pampering—it’s about providing a moment of peace and self-care for people who desperately need it but might not have the time or ability to seek it out. We cater to busy professionals, corporate events, and private parties, creating customized wellness experiences that allow people to pause, recharge, and reconnect with themselves.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just focus on the external; we’re passionate about helping people find their inner calm and strength too. My personal journey, from being incarcerated to building a successful business, is a testament to the power of transformation. I believe deeply in breaking through barriers and guiding others to do the same, whether that’s through our spa services or my coaching work, where I help women—especially those over 40—find their own breakthroughs.
Right now, I’m excited about expanding our corporate wellness packages, including an Ultimate Package, where we curate quarterly wellness events for companies focused on employee well-being. It’s all about creating long-term change and ensuring self-care is a priority.
I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new mentoring community, designed specifically for women over 40 who are ready to break through the barriers holding them back and unlock the next chapter of their lives. This community is a space where like-minded women can connect, support each other, and receive the tools and strategies needed for personal and professional growth. It’s all about creating a safe, empowering environment where we can dive deep into the challenges and goals that matter most at this stage of life.
Alongside the community, I’m also launching my 12-week Breakthrough Program. This isn’t your typical self-help course—it’s an immersive journey where I’ll be working closely with a select group of women to help them identify what’s really blocking their progress, reimagine their future, and put actionable steps in place to achieve it. Each week will be packed with practical exercises, mindset shifts, and powerful accountability, all aimed at creating tangible results by the end of the program.
I’m beyond excited to see the transformations that will come from this and to provide the mentorship, tools, and support to help women rediscover their strength and purpose. This is more than just a program—it’s a movement toward radical breakthroughs and lasting change.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and self-awareness.
Resilience was crucial because, when life knocked me down, I had to develop the mindset to keep going, no matter how difficult it got. The ability to stand back up, even when the odds were stacked against me, shaped who I am today. For those early in their journey, I’d say don’t be afraid of failure—embrace it. Each setback is a lesson, and every lesson brings you closer to your breakthrough.
Adaptability was key, especially when things didn’t go as planned. Life is unpredictable, and being able to pivot, whether in business or personal growth, has made all the difference. To develop this, stay curious and open to new ideas. Don’t be rigid in your approach, because growth often happens when you’re willing to shift direction and explore the unknown.
Finally, self-awareness—this is what allowed me to confront my own stories, the narratives I had built about myself that were holding me back. Being honest about my strengths, weaknesses, and patterns of behavior was a game changer. If you’re just starting out, make time for self-reflection. Get real about what’s working for you and what’s not. The more you understand yourself, the better equipped you’ll be to make empowered decisions.
My advice: embrace the process, be patient with yourself, and surround yourself with people who lift you higher. Your journey is yours, and every step forward, no matter how small, counts.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely! I’m always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations who are passionate about creating meaningful change, especially for women over 40. Whether you’re in the wellness, personal development, or corporate space, if you share a commitment to empowering others, breaking through barriers, and elevating people’s well-being—let’s connect. I’m particularly interested in partnerships that align with my mobile spa business, corporate wellness initiatives, speaking engagements, and my mentoring community.
I’m also open to collaborations with other coaches, authors, and creatives who are focused on transformation and self-care. If you have ideas for joint ventures, events, or content creation that aligns with these values, I’d love to hear from you.
