Meet Allison Ortega

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Allison Ortega . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Allison, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I have been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant/ patient care technician for 9 years in September and my hard work and ethic I get it from my mom. She was and still is a strong independent mother who had to raise me and my younger brother all alone and she worked her way up and I saw that, she never complained about one single thing and always with a smile going to work and coming home from work

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have been working in the hospital setting for 9 years in September 2024 , I’m not sure where time went but I have enjoyed working as a CNA/PCT. I love taking care of the people/patients who need me, sometimes someone needs some worlds of encouragement or a little joy in their life a smile and I love expressing that to my patients. I take care of them as if they were my own family. A lot of people ask me “how do you stay so positive in the work you do” and it’s just simple treat them like if your family was in the hospital. You might not know what that person is going through or hard is there situation with surgery or whatever the case may be but sometimes all they need is a smile and someone to listen and that is something I have always done for my patients. Something you all should know is fitness is my one of the most important things in my life because it changed it for the better. I use to be 225lbs all through my high school years. It was until my doctor told me I was border line diabetic and my cholesterol was high. For one complete year I changed my life cold turkey. Started going to the gym everyday and changed my diet and I was able to lose 100Lbs on my own. I have worked very hard in the gym to have the physique I have but also it takes a lot of patience and dedication and discipline because ask me if I was motivated all the time, no I was not. That’s something I want to everyone know if you want to change for the better no matter what you can do it if you want to. No excuse. That is something I will always tell someone who comes for me for advice for fitness which I’m not a personal trainer just yet but it’s the no excuse you want to want it to better your life not just for the month or the season it’s life changing. The most exciting thing that happened this
And I understand when life happens you have to pause it because it was very depressing, devastating when in 2021 my strong mom was diagnosed with cancer and it was the toughest months and year for me to keep bettering my health and fit because she came first I wanted to spend as much time with her as I could and it was just very hard on me and my brother. I’m so thankful and blessed to have my fiancé by my side when all this happened his family was incredible with everything. Fast forward to now 2024 my mom is still fighting this battle and she’s doing amazing. 2023/2024 was one of the years my fiancé and I moved to Austin and then got engaged. Oh My Goodness I’m a fiancée planning our wedding. We have been together for the 6 years in September and it’s been amazing both us have grown together he is my number one supporter for anything I want to do. From the day I decided to start my YouTube channel to anything. We have one little doggie we are fur parents and her name is Ellise and oh she’s a daddy’s girl. I try taking her to places I’m allow to because she’s just tiny and precious. We are still planning our wedding because we decided we wanted about 2 years of engagement season. Going back to the part of my YouTube channel I had started it so that my mom, brother, and friends back home and still keep up with me and see the things I do. And then decided to just continue documenting my life and giving fitness advice showing products I use because I’m just a normal gal with a normal life but amazing life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Discipline, dedication, determination
The 3 Ds are so important if you are ready for your life to change for the better no matter if it’s fitness or personal. You have to want so it and tell your self no excuses non. Because weeks, months or even years you’ll thank your self I promise that.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Overwhelm is a big word that I understand sometimes if your life is going through a lot, it can be very overwhelming no matter if it’s with work, life, or anything you might be going through. I say take a breather write it down on a piece of paper in your notes on your phone, on a journal go have your favorite coffee or go on a walk, gather your thoughts and get it done.
