Meet ALMA FIGUEROA

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ALMA FIGUEROA. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ALMA below.

ALMA, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

I wasn’t always an optimistic person. But during one of the most challenging times of my life—raising four boys on my own—I realized that I had a choice: I could let negativity consume me, or I could rise above it. For the sake of my children and my own well-being, I chose to step into a new mindset. That shift changed everything. It taught me that optimism isn’t about ignoring struggles—it’s about believing that better days are possible and showing up with the strength to make them happen.”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Alongside my corporate career in management at a globally recognized company, I’ve pursued a dream that’s very close to my heart: The Kandle Place. Creating candles may seem simple, but for me, it’s about crafting experiences—each candle is is about creating moments of light and comfort in people’s lives. Each all-natural candle is made with love, and seeing how they bring joy to homes is incredibly rewarding.

My family’s support drives me, and while we’re online for now, I plan on opening a shop where people can experience the magic of The Kandle Place.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

*Mistakes are inevitable, but they’re how you learn and grow
*Stay curious—research every aspect of what you’re building
*Practice patience, because there will be moments when you feel like giving up.
And remember, support doesn’t always come from who you expect; sometimes strangers become your biggest cheerleaders.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

.When I think of candles, a few comforting moments come to mind—coming home after a long day, lighting a candle with a glass of wine, or enjoying a cup of coffee with a book in hand while a beautifully scented candle fills the room. Candles are all about creating that sense of comfort and relaxation. I’m currently exploring collaborations with coffee shops and cocktail lounges to bring The Kandle Place experience to more people in those cozy, social spaces. Anyone interested in partnering or collaborating can connect with me through my website or social media—I’d love to hear from like-minded businesses and creators.
