We were lucky to catch up with Alona Lukianchenko recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alona, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Thank you for such a great question.
For me, finding my purpose was not something that happened overnight. I’m 31 now, and I’ve tried myself in so many different fields—law, marketing, hospitality… and for a long time, I used to think: maybe I’m doing something wrong, maybe I should have figured it out earlier.
But when I moved to the U.S. with my family, everything suddenly connected. I realized that all those experiences gave me skills and confidence I would have never had otherwise. Nothing was wasted—it was all preparing me for the path I’m on now.
So if there’s one message I want to share, it’s this: don’t be afraid to try, to fail, to start again. Every attempt is experience, and it’s always better to take risks than to regret never giving yourself a chance. And most importantly—listen to advice, but never to judgment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
After moving to the U.S., I had the opportunity to work at a med spa. At first, I started as a receptionist, practicing my English and simply enjoying the environment. I was fascinated by the atmosphere—the conversations about beauty, self-care, and wellness inspired me deeply.
Not long after, I began my own journey of education, training, and licensing. Step by step, I gained experience, and about a year ago I opened my own space of empowerment—The Skin Beauty Lounge.
At The Skin Beauty Lounge, I offer advanced skincare services with a holistic approach. I collaborate with world-renowned medical-grade skincare brands such as ZO Skin Health, Hydrafacial, and DMK, and as a licensed laser specialist, I work with one of the best laser devices in the industry.
In short, The Skin Beauty Lounge is about working with clients on a deeper, more comprehensive level. We look for the root cause, not just treat the surface symptoms. My goal is to help clients build healthier habits, develop self-love, and prioritize their well-being.
And what makes me the happiest is seeing that my clients feel this energy—they know it’s not just a business, but my calling. That’s why they always come back, and for me, that’s the greatest reward.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For me, the three most impactful qualities were persistence, a love for learning, and commitment to self-development.
My advice to anyone just starting out would be: trust your intuition. Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you feel drawn to it, give yourself the chance to explore. Start with small steps, and along the way you’ll begin to understand yourself more deeply and discover what truly resonates with you.
And honestly, these three qualities are not only important at the beginning of the journey—they are essential throughout your entire path. Even now, when I have a stable business, a loyal client base, and everything seems to be in place, I never stop learning and growing. I invest in new trainings, bring in new devices, collaborate with new brands, and introduce new treatments.
It’s a process that should never stop. It’s called growth—and that’s what keeps everything alive, exciting, and full of possibility.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When you work with people, you give a lot of your energy and your personal resources—and naturally, feelings of burnout visit me from time to time. At the same time, seeing my regular clients and the results of my work is incredibly inspiring. It feels like a true exchange of energy, and that gives me strength.
For me, a red flag is when I wake up in the morning and don’t feel excited to go to work. That’s when I know something needs to change. I’m a very visual and aesthetic person, so often in those moments I refresh my environment—rearrange the space, replace furniture or devices, or bring in something new that shifts my routine. That change usually brings me back to balance.
And of course, rest. Sometimes the best strategy is simply allowing yourself time to recharge.
