Meet Alpha Patron

We were lucky to catch up with Alpha Patron recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alpha, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Great Question! First and foremost, my confidence came from God and the simple fact of knowing who he is.
But specifically in life, I strongly believe that confidence could also come from three different places. Either comes from birth, as in your parents, guardians or siblings instilled confidence in you at a young age – or it can come from notoriety /acclamation from peers, or lastly if you haven’t had any of those – it can come from simply jumping off the boat of comfortability and diving headfirst.
For me, my confidence came from diving headfirst into the deep end of the water – which for me looked like doing my high school and city talent show, with no performing experience whatsoever. That leap of faith instilled a fearless confidence and self-esteem in me, rooting a seed in my brain of the “I can do anything” mentality – and that alone stuck with me for years and years going forward!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Alpha Patron – I am a hip hop/soul fusion artist and entrepreneur currently in Los Angeles. My main goal with my art is to instill a different sense of joy and peace in people’s lives through the songs I make. Bringing people together through melodies and rhymes from different cultures and backgrounds. As an entrepreneur, my passion is to bridge the gap between artists and their dreams by providing service to them through show bookings, engineering and producing – making their lives a little easier as artists. Life isn’t intended to be dealt alone with that being said, people and community are the leading push to my “why” and the music I create embodies just that.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three prominent qualities in my musical journey have been consistency, dedication/hard work, and accountability. The one thing I feel that separates people who make it and the people who don’t that I have seen, is the ability to not quit and to keep building and growing. When I got the opportunity to talk with some of my musical marvels in the industry, I’ve always asked them, what separates people who make it and people who don’t, and they all said the same thing – “whosever willing to work hard and persevere through trials and tribulations”. But sometimes working smarter doesn’t always mean working harder, that’s where accountability comes in to have people in your life who would give you the space to fail forward towards what you’re pursuing. Also this is Where trusted people in your life who have your best interest at heart, will tell you what’s working and what’s not. And what plant to water a little more than the others. So in terms of advice, I would say to keep building and growing, which could look completely different for everyone. Sometimes that could look like, one little brick everyday or sometimes that could look like multiple! All about self-examination

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Time management and poise is something that I have improved upon. My overall mind has had a riveting amount of peace and joy which alone translated to my work life. Allowing me to manage my time, finances, relationships, and career efficiently. Also allowing myself to be in the moment and to feel, and seek experience in different life moments to open my mind to more creative endeavors with my music!
