We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alton Weekes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alton, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
At 293lbs, I was dealing with high blood pressure, borderline diabetes, suffering from asthma, sleep apnea, inflammation, chronic pain and a host of other health challenges. In 2014, I suffered AND SURVIVED a heart attack…..and as devastating as it was I knew the Universe(GOD) was calling me to a higher purpose.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
After going through treatment for my heart event, my cardiologist put me on seven medications and said I would be on them for the rest of my life. That never resonated with me and I knew right then I had to do something that would allow me to heal my body holistically. So, I started to research, and study, and was curious how my body worked on a cellular level and how it has the ability to heal itself, but sometimes it may require a little help and assistance with plant medicine, like fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices and barks.
This is how CELLFUL was created, the cold press juice company that helps you DETOX, CLEANSE and RESTORE your body systems. This is done so that one can absorb more nutrients, vitamins, minerals and live enzymes.
As the Chief Juicing Officer, I run the day-to-day operations, and develop the business, and expanding our territory globally and the work we are doing to help people overcome their health challenges. It’s deep, but delicious work.
Cellful’s desire is to create an impact in the lives of many with our cold press juice products. Cellful also has an educational arm to its mission called Cellful JuiceLABS, where we come to you the community (senior centers, vet organizations, after-school programs and community-based organizations to educate them on the benefits of cold press juicing, how it works and how it works within your body. We provide juice tastings, recipe development and the ability for participants to create their own juice. it’s a fun time for all.
We also just launched our Corporate Wellness program for health-conscious organizations that want to enhance productivity and employee wellness. In addition, we added Wellness Catering to supply corporations with cold press juices for their events, symposiums, meetings and in staff break rooms.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1-Set an intention is always paramount for me. What do you want?
This gives you a roadmap of where you want to go! what kind of outcome is achievable.
2-Create a daily ritual or habit of self-care(prayer, nutrition, exercise) this is absolute!
This is non-negotiable, because this action step says you are important and loved and you know you can’t help no one until you help yourself!
3- Work with an accountability partner of transformation coach like myself.
This is someone walking with you along the journey to health and wellness. They have been here before. They are your guardrails offering and supporting you with actionable tools so you don’t fall off the cliff.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Inner Glimpse by Idil Ahmed is a self-help book which is one of my favorites that I am currently reading. This physical and audio book is great because it helps you affirm who you are on a deeper level by peeling back the layers and tapping into your authentic self and the powerful being you are.
