We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alyse Nichole. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alyse below.
Alyse, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I would say my father instilled a very strong work ethic in me. When I started playing basketball I sucked like every little kid. Though there are those kids with natural talent. I was not one of those kids haha. So when I told him I wanted to be good and play in games for longer times he made me practice everyday. When I got in high school, he would make me work out at the Magic Johnson 24 hour fitness gym @4:30 am in the morning before school and then I would I have team practice after school. So I was working on my craft all the time. I wanted to be great or at least Varsity eligible. My work ethic stems from not being good and then wanting to be great at whatever I did. To me, If I commit to something, I want to be the best I can possibly be at it so I’m always working on myself and craft.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
So I am a music artist and entrepreneur, which means I need to be a creative business person majority of the time. Very exhausting but the results are worth the work. Right now I am wrapping up my Album and I have just launched my new merch collection. My Album is called ‘Trip to the West’ and due to me being homesick from LA one point in my life, I decided to dedicate my debut Album to Cali. I really missed the Cali culture, the dances, the energy so I wanted pay it homage. Its dropping on my website Alysenichole.com and major streaming platforms on May 26, 2024. I will highly encourage readers to buy it from my website personally since my music is my main source of income and they will be investing into me not, the CEO of Apple or Spotify. It will be affordable of course and hey, if they don’t like it, they can dm me to tell me its trash. Haha
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. 2. Never take no for an Answer
3. Ask as many questions as possible
4. No one is going to care about you or your dreams more than you.
All of these lessons have taught me how to keep motivation and hustle alive. The only way I fail is by giving up on myself. We have resources like no other generation does to create our own employment and what ever our hearts desire. We should not take it for granted.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes most definitely. The type of person I want to collab with just has to be a vibe. Their own person. I don’t like f*ke people or relationships. Also they have to love doing music just as much as me cause I have collaborated with people that don’t do music for their passion and I hear it in the songs they put out. They also need to understand this is a business at the end of night. Lol if your’e one of my fans reading this, you should’ve caught that.
