Meet Alyssa Walke

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alyssa Walke. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alyssa below.

Alyssa, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
As a young teen, I struggled with low self esteem stemming from the way I felt about my skin. Struggling with acne, I never really felt comfortable in my own skin and like most of us, I sought out cosmetics to make me feel beautiful. As I got older, my creativity shined through my evolving skills with makeup, nothing felt better than receiving compliments about how glowing my skin looked. Later I realized that although I enjoy expressing myself through cosmetics, I wanted to love my skin for what is was with or without makeup. If I struggled with this feeling for years I knew I wasn’t the only one. After my first week at esthetics school, my purpose was to help people like myself love their skin through the trials and tribulations while using my passion for beauty and aesthetic services to boost one’s natural glow and confidence. When you look good, you feel good, and in return you do good.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an esthetician and permanent makeup artist I get to spend most days servicing our clients. As I am passionate about what I do, nothing gives me more pleasure than working on my craft and spending time with my clients. As the seasons change, I spend my time preparing for the exciting social events and beauty trends in store. As the heat subsides and fall approaches now starts the perfect time for chemical peels, microblading/semi-permanent makeup techniques, and glam season! I look forward to introducing our clients to the newest product innovations from award winning skincare partner iS Clinical and servicing our clients with the best of the best techniques in the upcoming holiday season!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Speaking to someone in the early stages of their career in the beauty industry, my biggest advice is to practice your craft, keep up your work ethics, and create genuine connections with everyone you have the opportunity to service. In the past 7 years, while working for some elite corporations and med spas in the business, I have had the pleasure to connect with many people who appreciate my work and have followed my journey as an artist up until I had the honor of opening my very own business in 2020. I would have never made the leap from artist to business owner without the encouragement of my day 1 clients, who although I may not see frequently, never forgot my passion and love for what I do and support me as their beautician as much as they can.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As a consumer, I enjoy supporting brands that are local, have passion for what they offer, and align with ethical and elite standards for their products and services. As a business owner and artist, I am always looking to connect and creatively collaborate with local businesses. If your located in the Orlando/Winter Park area and are interested in a collaboration that would excite our clientele , let’s talk about it!
