Meet Alyx Sueitko Delgado Garcia Zamorano Chavez

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alyx Sueitko Delgado Garcia Zamorano Chavez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alyx Sueitko below.

Hi Alyx Sueitko, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I have a great relationship with my ictuchu (curandera). One time I went to visit, and shared with them that I felt like I was not welcome in certain circles. That my ideologies and cultural upbringings made me feel othered, and that I was too “soft” or “gentle” for these fast paced spaces. The way they held my soul, and reminded me that any space I walk into automatically becomes a two-spirit space, a queer space, an indigenous space, a disabled space, a multilingual space, a fat space simply because I am in it. That if I am looked at as othered, that just means I am different, not bad. Reminding me that here I am a breath of fresh air, the trickled flow from the ebb in the river, the sparks that break free from the dancing flame, the flowers that grow fresh in spring. Taking these ideas with me, reminding me that I am enough. That has helped me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1.Being Humble. Allowing loved ones and communities to call you in, and teach you new things about how to grow your business. Taking the various nuggets and creating your own plate of wealth. 2.Being Open minded. Specifically how your craft and approach can look, and allowing it to mold and transform as you grow into your small business owner identity. Taking in where you have been, allowing that to fuel where you are going.
3.Being Balanced. As much as we want to say YES to every opportunity, it is important we are checking in with ourselves authentically about we can handle. Schedule rest and time for loved ones. When you energies are balanced, your head is in the right place to grow your businesses.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Anytime I have undesired feelings (like being overwhelmed), I document that as a little alarm buzzing to let me know something needs to change (like the beeping from your smoke detector when the battery is low). I take a deep breath, then implement a grounding technique like 3Ps, S.T.O.P., or the Senses 5-4-3-2-1. Once I feel grounded, I check in with myself. Which of my 9 areas of wellness has a low battery. Recognizing that, and recharging/replenishing those things, in order to continue on my journey sustainably.
