We recently connected with Amanda Amore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I made a career change in 2020 from NYC entertainment lawyer, to copywriter and brand strategist. I worked really hard as an attorney, but still wasn’t happy. Now I work hard at doing something I love. Whenever I have an off day, I just remind myself that If I can work as hard as I did in a career that I disliked, then I can definitely work hard doing something I love.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the founder of a copywriting studio called Written With Amore. I offer Brand Messaging and Website Copywriting. I am trained in marketing strategy and SEO (search engine optimization) — so the words I write sound great AND actually sell.
I work with startups who want to build a brand, and established businesses who want to rebrand or take their brand to the next level. A few common issues that business owners come to me with are wanting to attract a more sophisticated audience, wanting to reposition the services they offer, wanting to become firmly established as an authority in their industry, and needing help with SEO to rank higher on Google.
Words are so powerful. And being able to reach the #1 spot on a Google search with SEO!? I mean, hello free marketing! Business owners, go get yourself a great copywriter (preferably me LOL) and watch the transformation that occurs. It’s a total brand glow-up, I promise.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Creativity, strategy, and research. Creativity is more of a talent than a skill, and I’m grateful for mine. Strategy and research, on the other hand, are definitely skills, not talents. To become a copywriter, you need to learn how to master SEO, consumer psychology, and various marketing strategies. School and masterclasses are great, but the best way to learn is by doing. I got a job with a large marketing agency early on in my career and it was the best source of knowledge.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I collab with web designers a ton. We basically have the same clients. Many people who need a copywriter also want a web designer, and vice versa. Similar concept with brand photographers in Tampa. To collab, feel free to connect with me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/writtenwithamore/
