Meet Amanda Rome West

We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Rome West recently and have shared our conversation below.

Amanda Rome , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem through working my ass off and building my way up in the entertainment and music industries in Los Angeles. I have been living in Los Angeles since I moved here at age 18 and I think I inspire a lot of people because I am the first Jewish playboy bunny as well as the first female Jewish Rapper in the WORLD! My confidence and self-esteem also come from my having ADHD, which I harnessed as my superpower. I always look at myself and remind myself that only you can limit yourself, so, if you choose to be limitless, you can do or be anything you want.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the world’s first female Jewish playboy bunny and rapper. I went to USC to study business cinematic arts and learned everything I needed to know about the entertainment industry. Then, after graduating, I launched my production company, Watchlight Entertainment, which I founded with my fiancé, where we focus on animation, specifically our WebToon called Winds of Okoshü. I also run a podcast called ARW RAW, which you can listen to on Spotify and Apple! You can check out all of my work, music, and sites/socials at amandaromewest.com.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The top three qualities that you need to have if you were going to be successful and entertainment, are: resilience, passion, and persistence. Without these three qualities, I could not have done anything I’ve done so far, and the best advice I can give for folks who are early in their journey, in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these three qualities is to go right into the industry, headfirst and put in the hours. You have to hustle hard and be a real Inspiration to others, in order to become an icon.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
One of my favorite books is called the Four Agreements. I think everyone in the entire world should read it, no matter what age they are. It’s all about the four agreements you need to make with yourself in order to be successful and happy in this world. If you want to be successful, you have to focus on how you can improve every single day. And if you want to be happy, you also have to focus on how to be happy every single day. You have to focus on what you want to be and what type of energy you want to put into the world. For me, I’m always working really hard every day, so sometimes it easy to forget about my family, my friends, and even myself. You have to take time for yourself and realize what’s really important in this world in order to truly become happy and successful. I highly recommend everyone read this book. It is an incredible novel.
