Meet Amanda Rurik

We recently connected with Amanda Rurik and have shared our conversation below.

Amanda, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I had this idea and dream of wanting to work in the health & wellness space since college. I tried a couple different things like being a group fitness instructor and being the person that friends and family turned to for health advice. It wasn’t until I went through my own challenging health issues postpartum that a light bulb went off. I struggled with PMS, anxiety, bloating, acne, and irregular cycles. It totally sucked and I didn’t like the person I was becoming. It was affecting my relationships and the environment in which my family was living in. It was stressful to say the least.

Initially, I was dismissed my doctors about my symptoms and my feelings of not wanting to be on medications. I felt helpless and like there was no one I could turn to. I had heard about holistic health previously and since I wasn’t sure where else to turn, I started researching. I saw testimonials of other women who use or taught holistic practices and were able to heal. I read articles about natural remedies and root cause healing. I saw how people were able to find answers and not struggle in their symptoms.

So I did it! I finally formally educated myself on holistic health, root cause healing, and functional testing. I also learned alongside a fellow holistic health practitioner and with the combined knowledge and experience, I have since been able to heal myself and now several other moms across the US.

I know this is my purpose because I could literally talk about it all day long. Anytime I am working in my business or with clients, the time disappears. I see how the work I am doing is changing lives and improving the health experience for so many women.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I help busy moms rebalance their hormones and lose stubborn weight with ease. I do this with a proven 4 step process where we are on a health journey that is completely customized to the mom I am working with. So, things like PMS, acne, mood swings, low libido, irregular cycles, anxiety, and sustainable weight loss are the things I specialize in.

My goal is to help as many moms as I can feel amazing and be the healthiest version of themselves. It is a journey and I love seeing how that journey unfolds differently for each person. What makes this program so different is that it focus not just on the physical person, but the mental and emotional health too – something that is often ignored. Moms carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, and this is a space for them to be themselves and have time, grace, and community to support their needs.

Currently I offer 1:1 health coaching programs and in Spring 2025, I am excited to launch a new course. It will be a self paced course that teaches the foundations of health, women’s health, how to heal hormonal symptoms, and lose weight. I teach you how to create a sustainable and effective way to achieving your health goals and make lifestyle changes that fit into your life today.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think determination, perseverance, and clarity are what have helped me the most. Being able to have a goal, create a plan, and continue the journey to achieving that goal regardless of what other’s say or how hard the days get is what it takes to build the dream you have. You just have to go for it. It’s easier to say this being further down the road now, but if you don’t start, when will you?

I also have to acknowledge the love and support of my husband and two boys. They have helped and sacrificed time so I can build this dream company of mine. I am always grateful for what I have in them – unconditional love, support, grace, flexibility, and faith. I also have an amazing support system where I live and amazing extended family members that cheer me on. When the days are hard or don’t go the way I had hoped, I have the best people in my corner that I can lean on.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

The biggest area of growth for me in 2024 and still in 2025 has been self-reflection, listening to my inner self talk, and rewriting the way I talk to myself. I made the space to do this so that I can be mentally and emotionally healthy for myself, my family, and my clients.

This may sound obscure so let me explain… the way we talk to ourselves becomes our reality. Read that again. So the worry, doubts, past outcomes, past situations that I was still holding on to – all of these things were affecting the way I was showing up. I took a real hard look at this and realized that I wasn’t showing up as my best and brightest self most of the time. And for me, that’s a problem. I want to be project joy, happiness, gratitude, love, and empathy into the world and it’s hard to do that when the inner self talk is not aligned.

I learned more about this through a dear friend of mine here in Tennessee and she has been a rock and life saver. She has taught me so much about how to rewrite this inner self talk and reframe internal thoughts. So, when I have a negative thought, I don’t suppress it or push it away. I acknowledge it and move through it, rewriting it in a positive way, something that I can learn from.

It’s been a game changer for me and it’s something I am continuing to put a lot of focus on in 2025.
