We recently connected with Amanda Schonberg and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
My faith plays a huge part in me overcoming any negativity. We all deal with haters. It could be family members, other business owners or just anyone on the internet who wants to voice their opinion. I already remind myself of the lists of things that the Bible says about it. Gods word says that I am a conqueror and that I am the child of a king. Once I remember what he says about me the other noise never really matters.

I am an award-winning chef, marketing enthusiast and bakery business coach. I am the founder of Baking For Business, an online platform dedicated to sharing tips and motivation to help home bakers. As a coach I teach home bakers and treat makers how to build and grow their businesses with success. The most exciting part of my job is helping men and women create more income in their life so that they can have an impact within their families.
The other avenue in which I spread inspiration to everyone within our industry is with the Baking for Business podcast. The Baking For Business podcast is dedicated to sharing real world examples of my students and their transformations. We also share the success stories of others who are within our community.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Food service management is one of my top areas of knowledge that help me to be the most impactful to how I teach my students. I love to pull from the past; marketing and managing skills that I learned from working in retail settings.
Perseverance has played a significant role in my entrepreneurial journey too. It has allowed me to stay motivated and persistent even during challenging times. Whether it was the loss of a loved one, dealing with setbacks, or facing market competition, my unwavering determination and faith in God kept me going and ultimately led to the success of my business.
Those two combined with a love of marketing has been a significant asset in starting my business. Understanding how to effectively help my students promote their products or services, identify target audiences, create compelling campaigns, and analyze market trends has allowed me to serve my students successfully.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The most pivotal book that has played a role in my development is The Bible. The Bible has an answer for anything and everything and it’s all wrapped up in God’s love for us.
The Bible has helped me get through seasons of when I don’t feel enough, when I’m tired and when I am stressed.
I love to remember God’s promises for my life and I apply his teachings, lessons and motivation to my business to push me through when needed.
