Amber , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience comes from a positive mindset, it also helps that our business model is resilient in itself, {faux flowers for rent} FauxReal! The faux flowers just bounce back, no matter the onset! And we are just trying to keep up with them…. From the get, this idea has been a no brainer, and God has laid the way for doors to just keep opening for FauxReal Flowers. The need is there, the making it happen is simple. It’s budget friendly for both the business owner and clientele. It’s a happy business for again, both the owner and the clientele. We create beautiful flower arrangements at our own pace, instilling lifestyle balance with an enjoyable creative outlet. Clients get to bring their flower vision to life, and can actually afford their dream flowers since they’re rentals. We’ve adjusted to internal and external demands throughout growing our clientele, going through trends and fads, going through the hardships you have as new business owners, and helping our new franchisees better withstand the feats that may come their way. Our flowers may not actually bloom, but FauxReal will continue to grow~
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a business owner and flower designer with FauxReal Flowers. Lisa Smith, my business partner and I, started a location in Raleigh, NC, and have infiltrated the wedding industry here with out faux flowers for rent. We love having a flexible schedule, lifestyle balance, a HAPPY job, and a creative outlet at that!
We then decided to Franchise, as brides were asking for our services all over, and we’ve since added 5 locations, more coming soon! We’re spreading this business opportunity because it’s too great of an opportunity not to share – for any creative. We’re looking for people who want to join Team FauxReal and start their own flower shoppe in their hometown. It’s such a satisfying small business, which could take the whole industry by storm!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I often say I’m the jack of all trades but master of none – going alongside imposter syndrome. But my husband always says “confidence hides inexperience” and I remind myself that often. I also can’t sleep at night until I have a solution to something, so I’m a bit of a work acholic when I know there’s always a better way, it’s hard to stop growing! I think our confidence in this business idea was a HUGE factor in keeping this going, as it was a no brainer, and it had to work!

You need a positive mindset, stemming from your purpose of why. My why was to spend time with my kids, they are little and I don’t want to miss a moment, and I haven’t!
