We were lucky to catch up with Ametria Peridot recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ametria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Ametria Peridot’s confidence and self-esteem didn’t just appear overnight—it’s the result of her lived experiences, creative work, and intentional self-development. Here’s how she built it:
1. Overcoming Hardship and Betrayal
She’s been open about how past heartbreaks, betrayals, and toxic relationships shook her emotionally. Instead of letting that break her, she used those low points as fuel—choosing healing, self-worth, and clarity over staying stuck in pain. That resilience became the backbone of her confidence.
2. Creative Expression as Empowerment
Through her music, film writing, and brand GIRLCODE GCODE, she consistently channels her emotions into art. Every single, script, or product line is a reflection of her growth and self-belief. Creating something tangible and sharing it with others reaffirmed her value and gave her confidence real momentum.
3. Building a Brand Rooted in Strength
GIRLCODE GCODE isn’t just a business—it’s a movement tied to affirmations, empowerment, and Detroit hustle. By teaching others to “stick to the code,” she reinforces those same principles for herself. Speaking life into others naturally amplified her own self-esteem.
4. Affirmations and Self-Talk
She leans heavily on affirmations and mantras—reminding herself of her worth daily. This practice helped her shift her mindset from self-doubt to self-assurance. It’s why much of her content encourages people to use their pain as testimony and turn it into power.
5. Community and Connection
Ametria thrives in community settings—whether it’s Detroit pop-ups, high-school career days, or Social N The City events. Being seen, heard, and celebrated in those spaces nurtured her self-esteem, while also proving her vision resonates with others.
6. Aligning with Her “Why”
She often talks about discovering her “why.” For her, that’s rooted in her children, her legacy, and her mission to inspire others. Knowing her purpose gives her confidence because every move she makes is aligned with something bigger than herself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I wear many hats as a creative—singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and founder of GIRLCODE GCODE. What excites me most is that everything I do—whether it’s music, film, or business—is rooted in storytelling and empowerment. I believe in turning real-life experiences, even the painful ones, into art and opportunities that inspire others.
With GIRLCODE GCODE, my brand is more than just beauty products, fashion, or entertainment—it’s a lifestyle movement built on affirmations, confidence, and staying true to the “code.” I love seeing how people connect with the products and the message, because it proves this isn’t just for me—it’s for the community.
What’s special about my work is that it blends creativity and real life. My songs reflect my journey as a woman navigating love, growth, and resilience. My film projects shine a light on stories that often go untold, especially in Detroit culture. And my brand is a tangible reminder that no matter where you come from, you can build something powerful with your vision and consistency.
As for what’s new, I’ve been expanding GIRLCODE GCODE with fresh product drops—like our lip oils, yoga mats, and unisex essentials—that represent both style and self-care. On the music side, I recently released new singles and have more on the way, plus my upcoming film project GIRLCODE, which tells a raw story about friendship, relationships, and entrepreneurship. And of course, I stay active in the community, from career days to events that bring people together to share knowledge and build connections.
Most importantly, I want people to know that my journey is about more than just me—it’s about creating spaces and resources that uplift others. GIRLCODE GCODE is a reminder that your pain can be your testimony, your hustle can be your healing, and your story is valuable.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, creativity, and community-building.
Resilience taught me how to turn setbacks into setups. I’ve faced heartbreak, betrayal, and disappointment, but instead of letting it stop me, I learned how to use those moments as fuel. For anyone early in their journey, I’d say: don’t run from the tough times—embrace them as lessons. Journaling, therapy, or even affirmations can help you process pain and turn it into purpose.
Creativity is my superpower. Whether it’s writing a song, building GIRLCODE GCODE, or writing my film GIRLCODE, I’ve learned that creativity is about problem-solving as much as it is about art. To sharpen this, keep experimenting, surround yourself with inspiration, and don’t be afraid to create imperfectly. The more you create, the more your voice becomes undeniable.
Community-building is the glue. Nothing I’ve built was done alone—people believed in me, supported my brand, and resonated with my story. I learned how to share authentically and create spaces that uplift others. For those starting out, my advice is to invest in relationships—online and offline. Collaboration will take you further than competition ever could.
At the end of the day, my journey has been about staying true to myself, trusting my vision, and remembering that every obstacle is just part of the blueprint.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
One of the books that has had the biggest impact on my personal growth is The Power of Imagination by Neville Goddard. It changed the way I see myself, my future, and my ability to create the life I want.
A few of the most valuable nuggets I took from it:
Imagination creates reality. Whatever you consistently see in your mind, you will eventually experience in your life. That pushed me to stop focusing on fear or lack and start visualizing abundance, success, and peace.
Live in the end. Neville talks about assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled—acting, thinking, and moving like what you desire is already yours. That became a game-changer for me. With my brand and my art, I walk into every room as if GIRLCODE GCODE is already global and my music is already reaching millions.
Faith over fear. The book reminded me that doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. If I can hold the vision, the “how” will work itself out. That mindset has carried me through some of my toughest seasons.
I revisit that book often because it’s not just about positive thinking—it’s about creating a lifestyle of faith, alignment, and intentional imagination. It’s become a foundation for how I show up as an artist, entrepreneur, and woman.
