Meet Amiana Patterson-woods

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amiana Patterson-woods. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Amiana, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from a place of deep purpose—my faith, my family, and the calling I feel to create spaces where women feel seen, worthy, and celebrated.

As a mother of four—including twins—I’ve had to learn how to adapt in chaos, rise through exhaustion, and lead with love when I felt like I had nothing left to give. My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been rooted in persistence and a decision to keep showing up for myself and the vision God placed in my heart.

I created Pampered Luxe because I believe skincare should feel like self-love in a bottle—luxurious, intentional, and healing. I started Midwest Black Girl Recess because our community needed a space to breathe, to laugh, and to simply be. These aren’t just brands—they’re extensions of my resilience.

There were times I wanted to give up—low engagement, long nights, being overlooked—but I remind myself: my consistency is louder than any doubt. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never breaking down. It’s about rebuilding yourself with gentleness and grit every single time.

My resilience isn’t just something I have—it’s something I live. And every time life tried to silence me, I chose to rise, speak louder, and shine bolder.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the founder of Pampered Luxe, a skincare and fragrance brand designed to elevate self-care into a sacred, luxurious ritual. At its core, Pampered Luxe is about more than glowing skin—it’s about helping women feel seen, valued, and empowered through intentional beauty. Every product I create is rooted in my love for healing, artistry, and affirmation—from silky serums and whipped body butters to bold lip stains and magnetic pheromone perfumes.

I’m also the heart behind Midwest Black Girl Recess, a movement that encourages Black women and girls to reclaim rest, play, and joy. Through community events and local wellness initiatives, we promote movement, connection, and fun—because we deserve that softness too.

What excites me most is watching both worlds collide—beauty and wellness, luxury and healing—because I truly believe that nurturing yourself is an act of resistance and revolution.

This year, I’ve been expanding the Pampered Luxe line, recently launching Divine Splendor, my signature birthday fragrance, and preparing for seasonal drops that celebrate individuality and radiance. I’m also diving deeper into brand storytelling through visual content and affirmations, as well as creating space for women to feel cared for—in both tangible and emotional ways.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, vision, and faith-rooted self-trust.

Resilience carried me through the hard days—the quiet seasons when no one clapped, the times I questioned if I was doing enough, and the moments I had to create while being everything to everyone else. It taught me to bend without breaking.

Vision allowed me to see what didn’t yet exist. Whether it was women feeling empowered through a Pampered Luxe product or a sisterhood forming through Midwest Black Girl Recess, God gave me glimpses of what was possible—and I held onto them.

And faith-rooted self-trust? That’s the foundation. I had to trust what God placed in me. Trust that He equipped me for this. That I didn’t need all the answers, just obedience. That I could create, lead, and pour into others—even when I felt unqualified—because He called me to it.

For anyone starting out:
Seek God first. Let Him lead the vision.
Give yourself grace. Progress over perfection.
And most of all, trust what He put in you. The world may not see it yet, but He does—and that’s more than enough.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely—I’m looking to connect with those who believe in the power of purpose-driven work and community-centered beauty and wellness. With Pampered Luxe, I’ve created a luxury skincare and fragrance brand rooted in self-love, confidence, and intentional care. And with Midwest Black Girl Recess, I’m holding space for joy, movement, and connection in a world that often overlooks our need for softness and play.

I’ve come this far through faith, grit, and divine alignment—but I know collaboration is the bridge to expansion. I’m seeking investors who see the long-term potential in Pampered Luxe and want to partner with a visionary brand that’s redefining beauty from the inside out. I’m also looking for sponsors who align with the mission of MBGR and want to uplift Black women and girls through wellness-centered community events.
