We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amin Darabi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Amin, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Well, I always try to learn new art and new skills. Therefore, I follow the works of good artists and research and search in social networks. Art is constantly changing and developing. And the world likes and uses new art and new techniques. Of course, it is very difficult to always keep your skills up to date, because you have to spend a lot of time on the Internet.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I studied graphics. Graphics make you an artist with different skills. Such as painting, illustration, photography, typography, motion graphics, etc. I have done all these, and I am still working, But the thing that is most exciting for me, and I am interested in it, is animation. I am currently working on character design, digital painting, 3D art and motion. Sometimes I combine all these skills, which seems interesting. I always like to do new and creative things.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Depending on the trends of the art industry and clients, you should be well-advanced and trained in one or two skills. But in addition to this skill, you must know other skills in order to cope with the job market. My wrong decision was that I acquired several skills and trained at the same time. But you have to be quite strong in one skill.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
3D modeling and 2D motion graphic.
