Meet Amy Astaraee

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amy Astaraee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amy below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Amy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I developed my work ethic from a combination of personal experiences, including being a mother of two daughters, which has taught me the value of perseverance and dedication. Growing up in a family that emphasized hard work, I learned the importance of setting a strong example for my children. My passion for what I do drives me to always strive for excellence, knowing that consistent effort and commitment are essential for success.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a proud business owner of Brax Jewelers, a venture I started from scratch with nothing but determination and passion. Building this jewelry business wasn’t easy, but through hard work and dedication, I now have two successful stores in Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel and my own jewelry line, and I couldn’t be more proud of what I’ve accomplished. What I love most about my work is the opportunity to bring our clients’ visions to life through beautiful, custom jewelry that captures their unique stories and moments. Amy A. Designs is my personal jewelry line inspired by the elegant beauty and resilience of the lotus flower, symbolizing growth, purity, and the unfolding of one’s true potential.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, creativity, and a deep understanding of customer needs. Resilience allowed me to overcome the challenges of building a business from scratch, pushing through difficult times with determination and focus. Creativity has been essential in bringing unique and personalized jewelry designs to life, ensuring that each piece reflects our clients’ visions. Finally, a deep understanding of customer needs has enabled me to connect with clients on a personal level, tailoring our services and products to meet their desires and exceed their expectations. These qualities combined have been key to the success of Brax Jewelers.

My advice for those early in their journey is to focus on cultivating resilience, creativity, and a deep understanding of your customers. Start by embracing challenges as opportunities to grow; resilience is built through facing obstacles and learning from them. To enhance creativity, stay curious and open-minded—immerse yourself in different experiences, seek inspiration from various sources, and don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and prioritize what needs to be done, breaking tasks into smaller, manageable pieces. This helps me regain a sense of control and focus on one thing at a time. I also find it helpful to take a brief pause—whether it’s going for a walk, spending time with my daughters, or simply taking a few deep breaths. These moments of calm allow me to reset and approach challenges with a clearer mind. My advice is to remember that it’s okay to ask for help and delegate when needed. Surrounding yourself with a supportive team and knowing when to lean on them can make all the difference in managing stress and staying productive.
