We were lucky to catch up with Amy Jam recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
Patience has never been my strong suit, a trait my mother often attributes to my early arrival into the world, two weeks ahead of schedule. When reflecting on my penchant for risk-taking, impatience stands out as a key factor. At the slightest chance of excelling in a venture, I swiftly downplay my vulnerability and amplify the potential rewards in my mind.
My earliest recollection of this behavior dates back to my college years. As a freshman kicking-off my computer engineering degree, my knowledge of the field was minimal. Despite this, every night, I found myself scouring job listings for positions requiring engineering degrees, ranging from entry-level to intermediate. Night after night, I submitted applications to anywhere between 5 to 10 jobs. Surprisingly, this audacious approach yielded an influx of interview invitations. The sheer volume of interviews forced me to become adept at the process. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, the realization that my boldness in applying as a freshman led to interviews with major engineering firms served as powerful validation, fueling my commitment to embracing my God-given risk-readiness nature.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a first generation American, the daughter of a lioness single mom, and my background is Persian. I prioritize my spirituality and am a firm believer that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and guidance of my Heavenly Father. I was born in California but was raised in Maryland. I built my career in Maryland/DC/Virginia which lead me to come back to California to finally enjoy my place of birth, the city of Angels, on my terms.
My journey has been a mix of tech know-how, entrepreneurial drive, and a burning desire to make a difference. I began as a software engineer, but over the past fifteen years, I’ve transformed into a Technology Program Manager. Leading countless tech projects, I’ve left my mark in both the Public and Private sectors.
I’ve had the opportunity to consult for major government agencies such as the Department of Defense, Treasury, Veterans Affairs, Education, Housing and Urban Development, NIH, Bureau of Medicine, and TSA. My goal has always been crystal clear: to deliver innovative solutions that drive mission-critical initiatives forward whether in tech or any field. This drive lead me to simultaneously explore the world of real estate investment and development.
My real estate investment success across Maryland, Virginia, and Los Angeles paved the way for me to co-found Bread Bros, a beloved international bread and pastry manufacturer and bakery in Los Angeles. At Bread Bros, I established a robust business model that includes B2B channels, B2C e-commerce through our website www.breadbrosca.com, and an in-person retail experience at our local bakery. By implementing this trifecta methodology, I’ve been able to craft a dynamic platform that connects with consumers nationwide while uniting and serving our local community.
I’m also gearing up to release my book, “The JAMPRINT: How to Pave Your Own Way to Success,” set to drop in Q2 2025. This guide is a must-have for anyone looking to build a rock-solid financial foundation in today’s complex world. I’ve poured my sweat and wisdom into it, so my readers can skip the trial and error. Inside, you’ll discover proven strategies and insights on how to make your career generate multiple streams of income, how to invest the additional streams, and how to confidently embrace risks. This book serves as a great starter guide for whether you’re in high school contemplating what field to study, or to even study at all. Or, if you’re in any stage in your life looking to reset, restart, refresh and finally, relax.
My favorite work of all is coaching aspiring entrepreneurs via one-on-one coaching sessions. I help individuals break free from unsuccessful cycles, urging them to pursue their passions, turn those passions into income streams, and ultimately let their passions work for them. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Diversification. In Persian culture, we have a saying that goes, “You don’t make any sounds when you clap with just one hand.” It applies to business and life too. Building layers into your business, career, and goals is crucial. And remember, don’t put all your “bread” in one basket. Take baby steps and explore other projects while maintaining your main source of income. Think of it as having a backup for your backup. Even superheroes have a sidekick.
2. Keep learning. Just like how our hair color changes or our skin gets more “character” with time (okay, some more than others!), our brains need to evolve too. Think of your brain as a muscle that needs regular workouts. Dive into subjects you know nothing about, learn something new, and then put that knowledge into action. You might just stumble upon your next big passion.
3. Giving back. The universe isn’t as complicated as it seems. We’re all here for a purpose, and we’re in this together—not as lone rangers, but as a collective. That means giving back is essential. I’ve seen it over and over: when I give a little, the universe pays me back big time. The best advice I ever got was to never be afraid to give—just keep your mouth shut about it. Try to stay anonymous if possible; otherwise, it doesn’t count. So, give generously, but remember, it’s not a selfie opportunity!
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who is driven and eager to channel that drive into building their own empire, rather than just contributing to someone else’s success. They are passionate, ambitious, and ready to take control of their financial future. My message is clear: financial freedom is within reach. It requires taking the right actions, connecting with the right network, and planting your seeds wisely in the right places. With the correct guidance and support, anyone can achieve financial independence and create a life they are truly proud of. Together, we will navigate the path to success, turning drive into tangible results and ensuring that every effort contributes to building your personal legacy.
