We were lucky to catch up with Amy McGann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Well, I definitely didn’t stumble into my purpose. I carried it with me through a string of careers — from corporate offices to ski patrol lines to firefighting shifts — always chasing the same question: what makes this work feel worth it?
What I realized is that it was never about the job title. It was about the moments that asked me to show up fully.
These days, that translates into the kind of presence and clients I’m best equipped to serve with brand and web design. The raw vulnerability of boudoir, the intimacy of fine art, the tenderness of beauty and wellness, the untamed joy of elopement photography. They all carry the same thread… trust. That moment when someone lets themselves be seen, and in turn, is reflected back more fully than they’ve ever been before.
That’s the work I do now. I build brands that hold that kind of depth. Brands that don’t just look good, but feel like a mirror, alive enough to catch the truth of your artistry, strong enough to carry the weight of your evolution.
My purpose revealed itself there, in that intersection. Between story and strategy. Between beauty and clarity. Between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run Unbridled Form, a brand and web design studio built for the kind of people whose work is already unforgettable but whose brand hasn’t caught up yet. On paper, I design logos, websites, and full brand worlds. But what I actually do is hold up a mirror so people can finally see themselves in the way they’re truly meant to be seen, in their fullest expression.
Most of my clients are photographers, artists, and service providers who are amazing at what they do. They’ve built a reputation, they’re respected in their space, but they’re ready to be remembered for more than just the work. They want a brand that feels like home and like growth at the same time. One that holds both their artistry and their ambition without watering either down.
One of my favorite projects was with Kara of Déjà Revél Fine Art Boudoir. Her work was layered, transformative, deeply human. But her old brand? It wasn’t showing any of that. Together we rebuilt everything: the identity, the website, even her studio interior. The first time she stepped inside the new space she told me it was the best investment she had ever made in her business. That moment still gives me chills, because it reminded me exactly why I do this work. The right brand doesn’t just “look good.” It reveals you.
And that’s what excites me most. Watching someone go from “This is fine” to “This is me. And this changes everything.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my path most were curiosity, resilience, and the ability to witness.
Curiosity kept me moving through all the different careers I’ve had… Corporate marketing, firefighting, ski patrol, ranching, design. On the outside, it might look scattered, but underneath it was always the same drive to ask: what makes this work feel alive?
Resilience came from seasons in the backcountry and in emergency scenes where “good enough” wasn’t an option. It taught me to adapt, to keep going when things felt impassable, and to trust that the hardest moments often hold the most clarity.
And witnessing… that came from horses. They say horses are mirrors, and I’ve found that to be painfully, beautifully true. Working with skittish horses taught me how much my own nervous system mattered, that I couldn’t ask for trust if I wasn’t grounded myself. Every moment with them was a lesson in emotional regulation, in coming home to my breath, in softening enough to be seen.
That practice has shaped the way I approach everything else, in my relationships, my work, my brand. Because real partnership (whether with a horse, a client, or a business) isn’t about control or perfection. It’s about trust, presence, and the willingness to hold what’s true, even when it’s uncomfortable.
That’s the essence of my work now at Unbridled Form. I build brands and websites that don’t just “look good,” but feel like mirrors strong enough to hold the whole of a person’s artistry and ambition.
For anyone earlier on their journey, my advice is this:
Follow your curiosity even when it looks unconventional. It’s probably pointing you toward your purpose.
Build resilience by allowing yourself to experiment, fail, and keep going. It’s the quickest way to learn what you’re really capable of.
And most importantly, practice witnessing… Your own story, your clients, your community. The ability to see clearly, and reflect what you see with integrity, is the foundation of meaningful work.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
If I only had a decade left, I’d spend it in the backcountry with my horses and the love of my life. And honestly, I’d still be doing this work. Not because I have to, but because I can’t not. It’s the thing that breathes life into me. It’s the work I was put here to do. It fuels me in a way that nothing else ever has.
For me, branding is about witnessing the art inside people and giving it shape so the world can witness it too. It is about building a reflection strong enough to hold the truth of who they are, so their work can be experienced fully, deeply, in the way it was always meant to be.
That is the purpose that keeps me here. Even if time were running short, this would be a huge part of my life.
