Meet Amy Regan

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Amy Regan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from seeing my impact on the community. By providing opportunities, space, access, and helping make connections, I see a solid return for my efforts. Knowing that I am able to create this community and impact so many lives is what keeps my spirits up.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I own and operate See Saw Art in Manchester, New Hampshire. See Saw Art is a boutique gallery and art space that exhibits regional, national, and international artists of all mediums and backgrounds on a monthly basis. Our exhibitions are typically showcasing 2-3 artists, and biannually we host large scale, open call exhibitions.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Using your experiences to create confidence. When you are first starting out, this can be difficult to hold firm in your ideas and decisions. Trust yourself and recognize where your passion shows itself, I have found my passion comes to light when I am in the middle of a big, difficult project, and know that most would have given up. This is where I double down to make the project happen.
Know how you are different and lean into that. Make this part of your operating principles and always follow though. It is exciting and intoxicating to start a project, keep up that energy all the way though to the end, tie up loose ends, and stick the dismount to keep your reputation good.
Think about interesting ways to keep making friends and contacts. What spaces do you not have access to? How can you gain access to them in a genuine way? Always be reaching out and making strong connections.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always open to collaborations and would love to work with partners who are artists, creatives, or have spaces that could be turned into art spaces. Any wall can be a gallery! You can reach me at [email protected].
