Meet Amy Todisco

We recently connected with Amy Todisco and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Growing up in New York City, I always felt like a fish out of water. While others adapted to the sirens, concrete sidewalks, and the occasional glimpse of nature in Central Park, I craved something more. I wanted to hear crickets chirping, watch fireflies dance, and roll in the green grass, not just endure the city’s hustle and grime. My mother, a follower of nutrition guru Adele Davis, tried to create a healthy bubble for us amidst the urban chaos. Our meals were always homemade, from real, unprocessed ingredients—no sodas, no fast food, except for the rare weekends with my dad and stepmother. We took our vitamins religiously and downed something my mom called “pep up,” a brewer’s yeast concoction that tasted awful but promised health.

But that world of homemade meals stood in stark contrast to the harsh city life around us—dry cleaning fumes wafting through our windows, and the men in hazmat suits spraying for cockroaches while my sister and I did our homework on the floor. It was unsettling. I knew there had to be something better out there—and I got glimpses of it during escapes to friends’ country houses in Vermont or family trips to Chappaquiddick Island. Nature felt right.

At 16, I found my first real connection to that feeling by working at a local health food store. Surrounded by organic food, vitamins, and natural products like Dr. Bronner’s castile soap, I felt at home for the first time. That experience planted a seed.

Years later, when I became pregnant with my daughter at 27, everything changed. I stumbled across a small paperback book that exposed the toxic chemicals hidden in everyday products—shampoos, carpets, cleaning supplies. I was shocked. Why weren’t we hearing more about this? Who was supposed to be protecting us? And what were these chemicals doing to our health, our children, and the planet?

That’s when I found my purpose. I made it my mission to not only eliminate toxic exposure from my own life but to help others do the same. My passion became sharing what I learned, empowering people to make positive changes that protect their health and reduce the toxic pollution in their homes and the environment. This journey has fueled everything I do, and it’s my deepest hope that by raising awareness, we can all thrive—living healthier, more sustainable lives in harmony with the Earth.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

At Green Living Now, I help people transform their lives by embracing healthier, more sustainable, and eco-friendly choices. My mission is to empower others to reduce their exposure to toxic chemicals, improve their overall well-being, and live in greater harmony with the Earth. Through online courses, personalized coaching, retreats, and workshops on my organic farm in Vermont, I teach practical ways to live more consciously—whether it’s choosing safer household products, eating organic whole foods, or adopting holistic health practices.

What I find most exciting about this work is witnessing the transformation that happens when people realize that small, intentional changes can make a huge difference in their health and the health of the planet. I love seeing that “aha” moment when someone discovers that living a green lifestyle isn’t just about protecting the environment—it’s about thriving in a cleaner, healthier, and more fulfilling way. It’s incredibly rewarding to provide people with the knowledge and tools they need to make these changes confidently.

One of the most special aspects of my brand is the connection to nature and sustainability that underpins everything I do. I live what I teach—on an organic farm in Vermont—and incorporate these principles into all aspects of my life and work. My goal is to help people find that same balance in their own lives, wherever they are on their journey.

Right now, I’m excited to be launching the Green Living Essentials online course. It’s designed to guide people through the process of transforming their lifestyle with simple, actionable steps. The course is available at different levels—Foundations, Advanced, and Mastery—so everyone can find the right starting point. I’m also launching the Green Living Now Podcast. The Green Living Now Podcast offers expert interviews, inspiring stories, and practical advice to help listeners embrace a healthier, more sustainable, and eco-friendly lifestyle

Whether through my courses, farm tours, or podcast, my mission is to inspire positive change and help people create a healthier, happier, and more sustainable life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that had the greatest impact on my journey were curiosity, resilience, and a deep commitment to learning and sharing. Curiosity led me to question the status quo—from the safety of household products to what truly constitutes a healthy lifestyle. It drove me to research, experiment, and uncover the hidden dangers in everyday choices. Resilience helped me push through challenges, especially when I encountered resistance or overwhelming information. It gave me the strength to stay true to my mission, even when the path wasn’t clear. And my passion for learning and sharing has always been the heart of my work—it’s not enough to just know things; I believe in empowering others with that knowledge to make lasting changes in their own lives.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to stay curious—never stop asking questions, even if the answers seem elusive or complex. Build resilience by remembering that change takes time, and you’ll face challenges along the way, but each step forward counts. Lastly, commit to lifelong learning. Whether through books, podcasts, courses, or community discussions, stay open to new ideas and constantly seek ways to expand your understanding. As you grow, share what you’ve learned with others—that’s how we create a ripple effect of positive change.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that played a significant role in my personal and professional development is Alan Cohen’s Relax into Wealth. Although the title might make it sound like it’s just about financial success, the wisdom it offers goes far beyond that. What resonated with me most was Cohen’s message about aligning with the flow of life rather than forcing things to happen. He emphasizes that true wealth isn’t just about money, but about abundance in all areas of life—relationships, health, and personal fulfillment.

One of the most valuable nuggets of wisdom from the book is the idea that we are most successful when we act from a place of inner peace and trust. Instead of grinding and struggling, Cohen encourages us to tap into our natural creativity and authenticity. This approach mirrors how I’ve built my work in sustainability and holistic living—by trusting the process, listening to my intuition, and staying aligned with my values.

Another key takeaway is the importance of giving from a place of wholeness. Cohen teaches that true abundance comes from a mindset of generosity, but only when you are grounded and nourished yourself. This has shaped how I engage with my clients and community—leading from a place of service, while ensuring I’m practicing what I teach.

Overall, Relax into Wealth is a reminder that success—whether it’s in life, business, or health—flows naturally when you are in harmony with yourself and the world around you. It’s a message that continues to influence both my personal life and my work.
