Meet Amy Weinmuller

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amy Weinmuller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amy below.

Amy, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

My purpose wasn’t something I set out to discover—it revealed itself through one of the most difficult seasons of my life.

For years, I battled a whirlwind of unexplained symptoms—mouth lesions, tinnitus, panic attacks, severe allergic reactions, and an endless list of autoimmune-like issues. I was poked, prodded, and compared to everything from lupus to chronic fatigue, only to be told over and over that “nothing was wrong.” It was frustrating, isolating, and exhausting. I knew my body was screaming for help, but the answers were always just out of reach.

It wasn’t until 2020, after switching my primary care physician for the fourth time, that someone finally tested me for Lyme disease. Even then, it was a mixed bag of “kind of” positives and false negatives. I had to become my own advocate—diving into research, emptying savings, and eventually seeing a Lyme specialist who confirmed what I had long suspected: I had been battling 10 strains of Lyme, Bartonella, Anaplasmosis, and Rickettsia. The same tests had been done before, but the outdated guidelines failed me—as they do so many others.

Part of my healing involved a root-cause protocol that included months of antibiotics, supportive supplements, and, most importantly, herbal tinctures based on tick borne illness specific protocol. Those tinctures changed everything. They helped me reclaim my health in a way I didn’t think was possible.

And that’s when my purpose became clear: I needed to share what I had learned—and what had helped me—with others. So, Amara’s Herbal Alchemy was born. It’s a blend of my healthcare background, my personal healing journey, and my love for plants, magic, and helping others feel empowered in their wellness. This business is about more than just products—it’s about giving people the tools to advocate for their own healing, to nourish their bodies, and to feel seen.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that healing isn’t linear, and purpose often grows from the messiest, most painful parts of our lives. Mine just happens to come in small amber bottles and the occasional enchanted body butter.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

At its core, Amara’s Herbal Alchemy is about making herbal remedies feel accessible, approachable, and normal. I started this journey out of personal necessity—after years of frustrating, inconclusive medical visits and a long road to finally being diagnosed with chronic Lyme and co-infections. Herbal medicine helped me reclaim my life when nothing else did, and now I’m focused on sharing that same hope with others.

I handcraft tinctures, salves, body butters, essential oil rollers, and more—each one rooted in purpose, plant wisdom, and the belief that wellness shouldn’t be out of reach. I’m not in it for big profits. I do this because the most rewarding part of my work is hearing that something I made brought someone relief after they’d been dismissed or left without answers.

What makes this work exciting is its constant evolution. I’m always creating—sometimes because inspiration strikes, and sometimes because someone says, “Can you help with this?” And most of the time, the answer is yes.

Whether it’s soothing restless legs, balancing hormones, or helping someone breathe easier during allergy season, my goal is simple: to offer real, supportive options that feel empowering—not overwhelming.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful things in my journey were resilience, curiosity, and intuition.

Resilience kept me going when every doctor’s appointment ended in “we don’t know,” and when my symptoms were dismissed or minimized. Chronic illness will test your limits, and so will building a business—but resilience reminds you why you keep showing up.

Curiosity was what drove me to dive into herbalism in the first place. I wanted to understand what was happening in my body and how I could support it naturally. That curiosity turned into a passion, which turned into Amara’s Herbal Alchemy.

And intuition—that quiet inner voice—guided me even when the tests said “negative” but I knew something wasn’t right. It’s what helps me create products now. I blend research with instinct, always listening to what my body—and others—are telling me.

For anyone just starting out:
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Keep learning.
Trust your gut. You know more than you think you do.
And give yourself permission to start messy. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. You just need heart, persistence, and the willingness to grow.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

The biggest challenge I’m currently facing is the dominance of modern medicine as the default norm. For many people, the idea of using herbal remedies still feels unfamiliar or even intimidating. We live in a system where healthcare is largely dictated by what insurance will cover, and that often means a quick prescription is more accessible—even if it’s not the most effective or sustainable path to healing.

Herbal remedies, on the other hand, require people to step outside the familiar and invest in their wellness differently—often out-of-pocket. That can be a tough sell, even when the short & long-term benefits are significant.

To work through this, I focus on education and storytelling. I share my personal journey openly and highlight real stories from friends, family & customers who’ve experienced relief when nothing else helped. I also keep my products as affordable as possible because accessibility matters. My goal is to normalize herbal wellness, one product and one conversation at a time.
