Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ana Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ana, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
It’s being a journey for me, but with Check the Corner, I found that the key was to truly enjoy what I was doing and do it more because I loved it.
Instead of trying to fit into a mold or follow a pattern, I focused on being myself and embracing the things I genuinely liked.
By recommending and talking about the things I enjoyed, I was able to show my true self to others. And It was and still is liberating to let go of the pressure to conform and just be me.
I feel that by embracing my individuality and finding joy in life, I was able to build confidence and overcome imposter syndrome.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am passionate about culture and exploration. What excites me the most is being able to provide an honest and authentic experience through my brand. I don’t believe in fitting into a mold or following what everyone else is doing. Instead, I strive to showcase the places that locals recommend and love. While I may occasionally visit popular spots, my journey always leads me to a hidden gem recommended by a local, and I absolutely love sharing these discoveries with others. My goal is to share the best of what’s around, so that everyone can enjoy, explore, and have a great time.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Curiosity and Open-mindedness: Embrace curiosity, seek new experiences, and approach opportunities with an open mind.
2. Local Knowledge and Recommendations: Connect with locals, trust their recommendations, and explore hidden gems for authentic experiences.
3. Authenticity and Honesty: Be genuine, share real experiences, and let your personality shine through in your storytelling.
My advice for early journeyers is to cultivate curiosity, embrace local knowledge, and prioritize authenticity. These qualities will greatly enhance your experiences.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My friends and family, having them as my supportive network, can be incredibly helpful in overcoming challenges. They provide different perspectives, offer guidance, allow you to still be yourself, and encourage us to be open-minded.
Their support and input can make a significant difference in our journey towards success.
