Meet Anaja D. Clayton

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anaja D. Clayton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Anaja D., we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Growing up as an only child, having a high self esteem and strong confidence can go either way. Some would say I was very shy growing up with not much to say, and others would say I loved to be the center of attention. I would say both are correct. I have always had a vision of being seen, whether it’s on a tv screen, a billboard, or being known as the best in whatever career path I chose. As I grew older, experiencing life, realizing that not everyone had the same upbringing as me, I soon realized how important self esteem and confidence would be as I grew into the woman I am today. As a licensed esthetician, learning how important self care and prioritizing yourself is the first step into developing a high self-esteem. Pouring into myself has become one of my favorite things to do as it directly corresponds to gaining more self confidence and creating a higher self esteem. Another thing I do to keep my confidence high is taking time out to do things that make me happy. That can consist of journaling, watching a podcast, enjoying a good workout, attending a Pilates class, treating myself to a good meal, or simply enjoying a slow morning.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Anaja D. Clayton, licensed Esthetician specializing in corrective skin care and speed waxing. I also offer teeth whitening and luxury tooth gems. I am the proud owner of Pretty Blinkk Aesthetics Luxury Salon and Spa. Choosing Esthetics as my career path has to be the best decision I have ever made. I truly enjoy making other women, men, even teenagers feel confident in their natural skin. My goal for everyone who walks into my business is for them to relax, enjoy the ambiance, and become more educated on how to properly care for their skin and/or hair. I take pride in making sure my clients are satisfied with their service. One thing I would say that makes me stand out from other entrepreneurs is that I am always raising the bar, and trying to see what I can do to improve client care. Which lead me to making my own products. Pretty Rose Toner is my top seller which is an all natural rose water toner that hydrates the skin and brings out the natural glow without overproduction of excess oil. My latest product that has dropped is my signature Liquid Gold Pretty Scrub. Liquid Gold is a hand made full body exfoliant scrub made to target hyperpigmentation in areas such as the Brazilian or underarm area, and also aids in preventing ingrown hairs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

As a new entrepreneur, mistakes are going to happen! The best advice I received was that every entrepreneur makes mistakes and take losses, but making sure you only make that mistake once because you should always learn from it. Another piece of advice I would give a new entrepreneur is to never stop learning. Invest in taking a marketing class, invest in taking a class to add a new skill set to your business, and most importantly invest in your business.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who prioritizes their self care. She or he knows the importance of taking an hour or two, once a month to care for their skin while in a deep relaxing state. They are willing to learn about their skin type and invest in the proper skincare. My ideal client is someone who is not only loyal to me, but also the at home skin care routine I provide.
