Hi Anca, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a mix of personal experiences and a supportive environment. I’ve faced challenges that pushed me to adapt and grow, and each experience taught me the importance of perseverance. Additionally, the encouragement I’ve received from family and friends has helped me bounce back and stay focused, reminding me that setbacks are often just stepping stones to success.

I’m passionate about mixology and sustainability, merging my love for crafting unique cocktails with a commitment to eco-friendly practices. During my time in the hospitality industry, I quickly recognized the significant impact our choices have on the environment. This realization ignited a desire to innovate, creating drinks that not only taste exceptional but also promote sustainability.

What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to transform classic cocktail recipes using independently sourced, organic ingredients. I believe that mixology is both an art and a science, and I strive to elevate the experience by introducing flavors that reflect the seasons and highlight ingredients with a purpose. Cocktails should be conversation starters, and I love sharing the stories behind the ingredients and their significance. Each drink often reflects a moment in history and embodies sustainable practices, showcasing the communities from which these ingredients are sourced. This approach not only supports independent farmers but also raises awareness for various causes I’m passionate about.

As I continue to grow in my field, I’m dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of sustainability in the beverage industry. I’m excited to connect with others who share this vision and inspire a shift toward more responsible practices in mixology.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are resilience, creativity, and a strong commitment to learning.

Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks has been crucial. I faced challenges that tested my determination, but each experience taught me valuable lessons. My advice to those starting out is to embrace failures as opportunities for growth and be open to honest feedback. Don’t be afraid to adapt and try again.

Creativity: Mixology is an art form, and being able to think outside the box has allowed me to develop unique flavors and presentations. For those early in their journey, I recommend exploring different perspectives and experimenting with new ideas. Attend workshops, try new ingredients, and don’t hesitate to take risks in your creations.

Commitment to Learning: The industry is always evolving, and staying informed about trends, techniques, and sustainability practices has been essential. I encourage newcomers to seek out mentorship, attend industry events, and engage with a community of like-minded individuals. Continuous learning will keep your passion alive and your skills sharp.
