Meet Ancha’ Maples

We were lucky to catch up with Ancha’ Maples recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ancha’ , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Spirituality played a profound role in helping me overcome imposter syndrome by shifting my focus inward rather than relying on external validation. I realized that much of my self-doubt stemmed from the expectations and opinions of others who they told me I should be, how I should act, and what I should achieve. These voices created an illusion that I was never enough, constantly chasing an identity that wasn’t truly mine. However, through spiritual reflection, I began to see myself beyond these imposed limitations. Meditation, prayer, and self-inquiry helped me silence the noise of the outside world and reconnect with my authentic self.
As I deepened my spiritual journey, I discovered that imposter syndrome was not a reflection of my inadequacy but a disconnect from my true self. By letting go of external perceptions, I embraced self-acceptance and inner peace. Spirituality taught me that I am not defined by achievements or titles but by my purpose and personal growth. I realized that I am enough as I am, and my journey is uniquely mine to walk.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a dedicated wife, mother of three, and a professional in IT Project Management with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in the field. Balancing the responsibilities of a full-time career and motherhood has shaped my journey, teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of self-growth. My professional focus is on excelling in IT project management, where I lead teams, drive efficiency, and ensure successful project execution. Beyond my career, I am deeply committed to personal healing and self-improvement, striving to be the best version of myself, not only for my own fulfillment but also to be the best mother and role model for my children.
While my career is a significant part of my life, I also embrace the journey of balancing work and family, recognizing that success is not just about professional achievements but also about nurturing meaningful connections at home.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were intuition, adaptability, and inner peace. These qualities were deeply rooted in my spirituality and played a vital role in helping me navigate both my professional and personal life.
Intuition guided me in making decisions that aligned with my true purpose. In a world filled with external expectations, it can be easy to doubt yourself. However, through spiritual practices like meditation and prayer, I learned to trust my inner voice. For those early in their journey, I encourage developing intuition by creating moments of stillness in your daily routine. Spend time in reflection, listen to your inner thoughts, and trust that you already have the wisdom within you to make the right choices. The more you strengthen this connection, the more confident you become in navigating your own path.
Adaptability was another key quality, as life is constantly shifting, especially when balancing career, motherhood, and personal growth. Spirituality taught me that change is not something to fear but to embrace. Just as nature moves through seasons, we, too, go through different phases of life, each bringing lessons and growth. My advice for those starting their journey is to develop a mindset of openness. When faced with unexpected challenges, rather than resisting, take a step back, breathe, and trust that you are being redirected for a reason. Embracing change with faith allows you to move forward with grace and confidence.
Lastly, inner peace became the foundation of my success. It helped me stay grounded in the face of external pressures and remain true to myself. Spirituality taught me that true success is not just about external achievements but also about inner fulfillment. For those at the beginning of their journey, I recommend prioritizing practices that bring you peace, whether it’s prayer, journaling, spending time in nature, or simply practicing gratitude. When you cultivate inner peace, external circumstances lose their power to shake you, allowing you to move through life with a sense of clarity and purpose.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed as a mom, wife, and career woman, I turn to spirituality as my anchor. As a mother, I remind myself that my children don’t need perfection; they need love and presence. I take deep breaths, whisper a prayer, and ask God for patience and wisdom.
As a wife, I lean on open communication, prayer, and small gestures of love to maintain a strong bond with my husband. I remind myself that marriage is a partnership, and it’s okay to ask for support. In my career, I turn to faith when work feels overwhelming, using affirmations and setting boundaries to maintain balance. I remind myself that rest is productive, and that God has given me the strength to handle my responsibilities.
On my personal healing journey, I embrace the fact that growth is not linear. I meditate, journal, and seek God’s guidance to release past wounds and embrace self-love. Devotionals and moments of stillness help me reconnect with self. I trust that even in the chaos, God is working everything out for my good. By keeping faith at the center, I find peace in knowing that I am never alone. Even when I can’t do it all, I choose grace over guilt.
