We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andie Robbins a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
When I think about my purpose, I think about supporting and encouraging others. My purpose originally led me to be an elementary school teacher here in Athens. Teaching and inspiring my students over the years has 100% been my passion. I have given my all to teaching, and though it is something I love, I feel like it is time to pursue my purpose outside of education. When I started my business, I had no clue how it would tie in with my passion to support others. However I have been able to connect with amazing entrepreneurs all around the nation. I am able to encourage and help them build and elevate their brand through social media management. This desire has led me down a new path that I never expected to be on, but I am so thankful and excited for what is to come!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I started Cali + Ko when I made the decision to eventually step away from teaching. I started by asking entrepreneurs what their biggest pain point / time consumer was; every answer revolved around social media marketing. They either didn’t know where to begin with their social media, or they didn’t enjoy it, resulting in it being put on the back burner. This is when I made the decision to focus on social media management. I devoted all of my extra time to learning the industry, and quickly fell in love with all of the aspects of being an entrepreneur and social media manager. The most exciting part about my business is working with my amazing clients all over the nation! I love taking the vision of their business, and furthering it on their platforms. Elevating a business’s social media presence has a huge influence, and is not a small task. Taking this aspect off clients’ plates, supporting, and encouraging them is something I value deeply.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities / skills that have been most impactful in my journey is building connections, open-mindedness, and communication. I strive to build connections with my clients so they know at the end of the day, they can trust me with their visions, along with how to attract their ideal clients as their business grows. I ensure constant / effective communication to make sure I am always on the same page with my clients. Both of these have been so impactful as I take over clients’ social media. Staying open-minded has allowed me to continuously learn throughout my journey and has been essential to growing my business. Without these qualities, my business would not be where it is today.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is an entrepreneur who is dedicated to building their brand through social media, but either doesn’t have the time or resources to do so on their own. This ideal client is someone who is scaling their business in a way that requires help elevating their social media presence and looking for a partnership to accomplish their goals.
