Andrea, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
In the world that we live in things are changing every day. What might have been in style last year most likely is outdated today. As an artist, you must keep up with the latest trends. At times I found myself struggling to keep up. I had to do some research to find out the best way to approach this diffcult hurdle. One key factor that I found helpful is figuring out who your audience is. To keep creativity alive, you must pay attention to what is out there. As an artist, I have become familiar with different approaches in style a little bit more now that I am pursuing a master’s degree. This has caused me to expand my creativity.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My early beginnings as an artist started at the age of three when I drew an enormous elephant with a blue crayon on my parent’s hallway wall, my mother was impressed. Since then, my teachers and parents recognized my gift, and they invested in me. Here I am years later and still going after my creative dream. I am a Visual Artist from Chesapeake, VA, and the owner of Take A Peake Art LLC. It is a family-owned business based out of Chester, Va. This business offers affordable artwork. From graphic design to paintings and more. We have provided services across the country having customers in Georgia, California, South Caroline, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Time management, commitment, and discipline.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
I would spend the next decade in prayer and giving my all if I knew it was my last. I have to do my best and leave the rest up to God.
