Meet Andrea Echeverria

We recently connected with Andrea Echeverria and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?

I’m an aesthetic nurse practitioner and I do mostly injectables for a living. Aesthetics often carries a significant stigma, with some people viewing cosmetic enhancements as unnecessary or superficial. This stigma can overshadow the positive impact aesthetics can have on confidence and well-being. Educating others about the true benefits and personal empowerment that come from these treatments is key to challenging and changing these misconceptions. When faced with negative comments about aesthetics, I focus on educating others about the benefits and safety of these treatments, emphasizing that they are a personal choice and not for everyone. I remain confident in my expertise, knowing that my work enhances confidence and well-being for those who choose it. Instead of engaging in arguments, I respect differing opinions and prioritize the satisfaction and happiness of my clients. Receiving criticism can be tough, as it challenges your efforts and can feel personal. It takes resilience to stay open-minded and use feedback constructively, especially when you’ve put in hard work. However, handling criticism with grace and seeing it as an opportunity for growth can ultimately strengthen my skills and confidence. I mostly show my work through social media. In which I feel social media can be a great thing but also bad. Social media has opened a platform where people can voice their opinions. I take pride in my work and I find most times I have to defend myself from negative comments.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’ve been a nurse for 8 years working in hospitals. I decided to pursue my career as a family nurse practitioner and wanted to specialize in aesthetics. I’ve helped patients at their most critical state and now I want to help them physically. Little by little I have taken a risk and built my little business and taken my career to the next level in becoming my own boss and owning my aesthetic clinic. As an aesthetic nurse practitioner, I became passionate about this field because it allows me to combine my medical expertise with my love for helping people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I love my job because I get to make a tangible difference in my clients’ lives, enhancing their natural beauty and boosting their self-esteem. The blend of artistry and science in aesthetics is incredibly fulfilling, and I’m driven by the satisfaction of seeing my clients walk away happier and more confident after each treatment.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey as an aesthetic injector, three qualities and skills that have been most impactful are:
1. Attention to Detail: The ability to assess each client’s unique features and tailor treatments to enhance, ensuring client satisfaction.
2. Artistic Eye: understanding symmetry, balance, and proportion, has allowed me to create results that are natural -looking.
3. Continuous Learning: The field of aesthetics is constantly evolving, and staying updated with the latest techniques, products, and safety protocols has been essential. I love learning from other injectors I look up to.

The advice I have for others is do not give up, mistakes and setbacks offer valuable learning opportunities and help build resilience and if you are passionate about what you do, keep learning always stay educated, take courses go to seminars.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

One of my really good friends who is also an injector. When I first started injecting I wanted to perfect my injecting skills and I noticed a sponsor post on Instagram. Vanessa, was promoting training classes for new injectors. I reached out to her and when we met in person we connected on another level and became really good friends. She has taught me so much and still till this day we support each other and reach out to each other for advice and if we had an issue how we would deal with it. Everyone’s body reacts differently so it’s nice to have someone who understands and can guide you on what to do.
