Meet Andrea Lopes

We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Lopes recently and have shared our conversation below.

Andrea, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I see life as a journey full of lessons—and I’ve learned that if you don’t grow from them, they tend to repeat themselves. Over time, I’ve developed confidence and self-esteem by embracing those lessons, even the hard ones, and allowing them to shape me.

Being a single parent really pushed me to grow. I knew I had to become the best version of myself—not just for my own sake, but to be a role model for my children. You know they see and hear everything around their environment. I carry a deep sense of purpose in making sure the next generation is stronger, more emotionally aware, and more resilient.

Faith has been my anchor. I often say, “He (GOD) is so good to me,” because I know exactly where I came from and how far I’ve come. My faith taught me that it’s okay not to have control over everything—that peace comes from trusting the path even when it’s uncertain.

Adopting a growth mindset helped me shift from being hard on myself to learning from my experiences. I stopped aiming for perfection and started focusing on progress. And that mindset, combined with faith and purpose, is what continues to build my confidence every single day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’ve learned firsthand that homeownership is often the dividing line between poverty and financial security. As a single parent of four—three girls and one boy—I’ve navigated many of life’s challenges. Between my daughters and I, we’ve bought and sold over 10 properties. These experiences have not only reshaped our financial future but have also been transformational in every area of our lives.

When I reflect on the journey, I see how the power of property ownership changed my children’s lives. My son, born in 2005, came into a different financial reality than my first daughter, born in 1983. Homeownership isn’t just a roof over your head—it’s the foundation for generational wealth, stability, and opportunity. For my family, it’s been the key to breaking cycles and creating new possibilities.

If you don’t buy it, you’re helping someone else buy it! I paid rent from age 18 – 36. That’s just 18 years! Let’s say at the minimum of $1000 a month. That’s $216000 in just 18 years. That is half of your 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home.

Alongside my passion for real estate, I bring my expertise in behavior, especially with children on the autism spectrum, into everything I do. I understand how important it is to have a stable, nurturing environment—and a stable home plays a crucial role in building confidence, teaching resilience, and fostering growth. Consistency is needed in the routine of every growing child.

✨ What’s New:
Currently, I’m focused on expanding my real estate ventures while also working on initiatives to empower other single parents and families. I’m creating resources that combine financial literacy, homeownership, and personal development to help others break free from the limitations of their circumstances. For me, it’s all about ensuring that the next generation—especially my children and grandchild—has a better foundation to build their futures on.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I’ve dedicated my life to building strong, resilient futures for families, combining my passions and expertise across three key areas: real estate, behavior intervention, and parenting advisory services. As a single parent, grandparent, teacher, and mentor, I’ve learned that creating a solid foundation—whether it’s a home, a mindset, or a supportive parenting environment—can change the trajectory of a family’s future.

In real estate, helping families navigate the process of buying and selling a property, knowing firsthand how transformative homeownership can be. It’s the dividing line between financial struggle and security, and I’ve seen how it can open doors to opportunities that help families break generational cycles. Through my personal family journey of buying and selling over 10 properties, I’ve built a wealth of knowledge and experience to guide others in making wise, informed decisions.

In behavior intervention and education, my work focuses on supporting children, particularly those with special needs like autism, to find their voice, have their needs met and build meaningful connections. With years of experience, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how behavior shapes success in both school and home environments. My goal is to provide guidance to parents and educators, helping them foster an environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Additionally, parenting advisory services are at the heart of what I offer. As a parent, grandparent, and certified Duala, I’ve seen the challenges that come with raising children from birth to high school. One thing I’ve learned is that consistent, intentional parenting from the beginning sets the tone for their future success. Whether it’s creating routines, managing school preparation, or providing emotional support, I help parents build strong foundations for their children. My own kids have become role models in their communities, and I’m passionate about empowering other parents to do the same.

✨ What’s New:
I’m expanding my services to offer tailored support for families in all areas of life—from guiding you through homeownership to helping you build strong routines for your children under 12 or fostering healthy relationships at home. Whether you’re navigating real estate decisions, seeking advice on parenting strategies, looking for a Duala, or needing support with behavior interventions, I’m here to provide the expertise and guidance you need to build a bright, successful future for your family.

Parents of Children with Behavioral Challenges:
Another group I serve is parents whose children are experiencing behavior challenges, either at home or in school. These parents may be struggling to understand their child’s needs or are facing difficulties managing disruptive behaviors.
