Meet Andrea Pardine

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Andrea Pardine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Andrea, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
For me confidence comes easy for some things, and not so much at all for others. Things that I naturally feel more confident in I consider my strengths and diving more deeply into those things has allowed me to develop passions. It really helps to have a deep understanding of yourself, your likes and dislikes, and what you truly enjoy spending your time doing!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I spend my time sourcing vintage and secondhand pieces, mostly home decor. I get to go to thrift stores, flea markets, estate sales, and more to find intentionally thought out items to sell to my customer base. I have some clients looking for a specific piece and if the stars align I am able to find just what they’re looking for.

I got a website up and running pretty much all by myself which I’m super proud of – and hope to have my online shop going soon!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Know your brand and stick to it. Consistency is key here – write down some key words or character traits you want to define yourself by and put that somewhere you will see it. Don’t forget your original vision and intentions for your business as you will always be your biggest advocate and marketer for yourself.

Social media connections. Making contact with people whether or not you spend a lot of time on social media outlets is important. My business took off that way and now it feels like a whole community of people i found with common interests, and a lot of them turned into friends. There is strength in numbers.

Set your limits. Running your own business or being a creator makes it easy to not have real time off. This year I set my “days off” as I don’t usually get a traditional weekend and it’s been the best thing for me. Have your non negotiables as well and don’t feel bad for saying no to things – your future self will thank you!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I love collaborating with other creators and small business owners!

At the end of last year I partnered with a friend who pours soy candles. I found some vintage glass jars/vessels and they poured the candles in the containers and I sold them at a market I was attending. Everybody loved them!

The next partnership I am looking to do is something along the lines of merch. Like tshirts, tote bags, magnets. I have a few ideas for slogans regarding thrifting and think that would be so fun, and I would have some customers that would definitely be interested!
