Meet Andrea Parker

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Andrea Parker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Andrea below.

Andrea, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I’ve always had a strong desire to live an amazing life, driven by the urge to realize my true potential and inspire others to do the same.

What truly motivates me is the thought of looking back on my life and knowing that I really went for it—that I created a life worth living and allowed myself to experience it to the fullest.

I’m not driven by hustle and grind but by the desire to expand, grow, and fulfill what my heart truly yearns for: to shine, share joy, and have fun along the way.

That being said, I used to be a people pleaser, overachiever, and perfectionist. I know what it’s like to be driven by fear of not being good enough, not fitting in, and trying to tick all the boxes of success. But to me, that’s not true success. While I’m deeply committed and dedicated to bringing my vision to life, I’m not willing to do so at the expense of my heart and joy.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I believe that life and business GET to be fun!

But I didn’t always think or feel this way. I created my dream business and was living my dream life on paper, but I didn’t feel fulfilled, present, or like I was having ANY fun.

Everything changed in my life and business when I stopped following what I “should” do and embraced being a self-led entrepreneur.

I spent a decade as a police detective but knew it wasn’t what I truly desired.

Then, I spent years building a successful coaching business in the traditional way. I trained with the top coaches and mentors in human behaviour, the subconscious mind, and performance coaching. Despite all this success, I realized that I was living someone else’s dream for me, not mine.

I was good at one-on-one coaching, but it wasn’t what my heart truly desired.

After I gave myself permission to step back and reflect on what would really be fun for me and to think about what I genuinely wanted, I discovered that I wanted to take a whole new approach to helping leaders shift their experiences—through co-creation.

At the same time, I started looking for ways to change my lifestyle and evolve the way I thought about business. But I kept coming across the same old business approaches—you know, the ones that bombard you with too much information and restrict your beliefs about what’s possible. I wasn’t buying it.

I broke the mould and gave myself permission to do things in a new way. I took the entire summer off from business and called it the SUMMER OF FUN!

Alongside my wife and business partner Mel, we slowed down, prioritized our joy, and allowed ourselves to…you guessed it—have more fun! Because our entire experience shifted, we made more money than if we had been working. We returned to business more inspired, connected, and enthusiastic about what our hearts truly desired.

This led us to close the traditional coaching business and take all the wisdom and knowledge we had gained to help leaders embody this new approach. I transformed my business to create the life I wanted rather than chasing someone else’s definition of success.

We created The FunXperience and our keynote talks because we genuinely want heart-centered leaders to experience:

✨ Flourishing inspiration and creativity
✨ Enjoyable work every day
✨ Your dream lifestyle as your reality
✨ Feeling like anything’s possible in your business
✨ Connecting with other entrepreneurs who desire deeper connections and amplified potential
✨ To have a thriving business and a rich personal life

The most exciting aspect of what we do is seeing the transformation in the leaders we work with. When they start to infuse fun, joy, and play into their businesses and lives, they not only achieve greater success but also find a deeper sense of fulfillment. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide them through this shift and see the ripple effects it has on their teams, communities, and collective consicousness.

Right now, we’re focused on expanding The FunXperience. We’re accepting new members into our mastermind group, launching additional speaking engagements, and continuously refining our experiences to make them even more impactful.

Our next FunXperience mastermind cohort kicks off this September and is designed specifically for established business owners making multi-six to seven-plus figures in their businesses. We’re also planning future events that bring together like-minded entrepreneurs to connect, grow, and, of course, have fun.

We’ve walked the path, and we continue to walk the path. Our mission is to show others that it’s possible for them too.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Releasing Subconscious Blocks: “You won’t create what you want; you create what you believe.”

One of the most valuable skills and lessons I’ve learned from training with top coaches and mentors in human behaviour, the subconscious mind, and performance coaching, as well as from working with leaders around the world, is that you won’t create what you want—you create what you believe. I learned this from my mentor, Dr. Lise Janelle.

So, if you subconsciously believe that it’s not safe for you to have fun and think you need to push yourself relentlessly to succeed, then guess what? You won’t allow yourself to have fun.

For example, in February, I was speaking at a conference in Toronto, and one of my clients was in town as she was also speaking there. We hosted her and a few teammates at our house on the lake for fun.

It was cold, but a beautiful day in Muskoka, so we decided to go for a walk on the ice. As we were walking, enjoying and laughing, I looked over and saw my client had fallen through the ice. Not ideal!

I dragged her out, and as we walked back to the house, she said to me, “This is why it’s not safe for me to be enjoying on a Wednesday while I should be working.”

So hear me out. The ice was solid. It was well over two feet thick. Three people had also walked in that same spot moments before without falling in. Remember how I said you won’t create what you want; you create what you believe?

My client came to work with me because she wanted to have more fun growing her business. She also knew she had a block around doing so. So we went inside, and I helped her dissolve this subconscious belief that it wasn’t safe for her to have fun in life and business.

This is important because you can have the best business strategy in the world, but if your subconscious isn’t on board, it won’t happen. Because my client had the courage to release this block, slow down, and allow herself to have more fun, her revenue increased by 541% that year.

This is why it’s so important to become conscious of your limiting beliefs and release them. Because you won’t create what you want; you create what you believe.

2. One of my superpowers is asking the question, “What would make this more fun?”

When I was a kid, I was naturally happy and loved playing, enjoying, and having fun. One of my superpowers was asking, “What would make this more fun?”

Growing up, I learned to dim my joy to fit in. It wasn’t until I was standing in my lake house, doing all the things I thought I should do to be successful, that I realized, what was the point of having a business and creating a dream life if I wasn’t having fun!

So from that moment on, I began asking the question, “What would make this more fun?” I found that this simple, yet profound question helps you shift from the old way of thinking and “shoulding” all over yourself and your business to tapping into what is most important to you and your experience.

The best part is you can start with little things that might not seem all that fun but are decisions rooted more from your heart. For example, when you wake up in the morning, you can ask yourself, “What would make my morning more fun?” Maybe it’s savoring your coffee, going for a walk, or giving yourself permission to go slow.

The more you do this, the more connected with yourself you’ll feel, and you’ll begin to shift your entire experience.

3. Commitment + Courage

To live an amazing life, it requires courage to live from the heart. I learned that you can either live from your fears or from your heart.

I can think of many times when I made decisions from my heart that made no sense on paper but turned out to be the best gifts. Like when I followed my heart and left policing at the height of my career, when we moved three hours away from our friends and family to live on the lake, and when we closed our successful coaching business to create The FunXperience.

What I know is that fear is typically the only thing stopping us from achieving our goals. So if you are one foot in and one foot out, it won’t work. If you are 60%, 70%, or even 90% committed, it won’t work. You need to be 100% committed to moving your dreams forward, for when you do that, you’ll move mountains. Things will happen for you that otherwise wouldn’t.

And just know that being 100% committed does not mean all or nothing.

Living your dreams takes courage and commitment.
