Meet Andrea Smith

We were lucky to catch up with Andrea Smith recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I played basketball, ran track, and baseball when I was a young girl and I had to navigate through boys bigger and more athletic.. My mom put me in pageants against my will lol and I eventually became a fashion model ..it was tough but managing through it and staying grounded helped me trust myself and build confidence.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Pro Dog Trainer and I have been rescuing and rehabilitating dogs for 25 years.. I went to school for Human Psychology but I learned Dog Behavior on my own..building my craft and learning from other professionals along the way..
Early in my career, I moved to California and threw myself in a job that housed over 200 dogs and thus I became strong dog handler and Whisperer of the Pack!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Because I was a model, I learned the Art of personal appearance and how to present myself..I like to read so it helped with self teaching.. I also like to travel and meet new people when I was younger so it made me flexible, adventurous and able to talk with anyone which allowed me to find jobs quicker…
For folks early in your journey I suggest you to stay alert for opportunities even volunteer to build your craft..Use resources around you and know that there is more than one way to skin a cat..Do it your way..Learn from mistakes

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Drea Dogworld has professionally been a solo project..look at me as your pups personal therapist.. I would like to collaborate with organizations that work with kids to set up programs to help them understand dogs and how to build careers and entrepreneurship..
I would like rescue programs to seek out me expertise to help them with their mission of saving dogs..
I would love to meet a production company and network that would help me produce a TV series about my unique life as a Dog Whisperer
