We were lucky to catch up with Andréa Zamora recently and have shared our conversation below.
Andréa, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I always say chase purpose, not success. What can we take with us when we go? Nothing. All that matters is what we leave on this earth. I don’t care about what you do, I care about what you gave. I care about how many people’s lives you touched. I care about what you taught and who you’ve helped. Maya Angelou once said “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Chase that. Your purpose is typically your passion. The things that make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. The thing you did that made a difference. That’s purpose. What gifts or wisdom do you have that you can share? How can you pay it forward? How can you heal people and love people? At the end of the day that’s all that really matters. And there is nothing else on earth that will fulfill you more than this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Andréa Zamora is an American actress from San Francisco CA. She is of Costa Rican, Mexican, Ukrainian, Russian, and Israeli decent. She is an actor, writer, director, producer, singer, dancer, and founder of a creative agency and production agency. As an actor Andréa is most known for her comedy pilot “Why Me?!” released in July of 2019 which she wrote, directed, produced and starred in. She has many other projects in the works while simultaneously working in the television and film industry.

Looks LA was founded by visionary, Andrea Zamora in 2017. Through her years of experience, she expanded her brand as an artist, stylist, consultant, creative director and producer. After taking the lead creatively on many projects, she found that Looks LA was exactly the type of platform the industry needed. Looks LA offers makeup, hair, styling, casting, photography, videography, treatments, creative direction, and more. She has partnered with estheticians, nurses, and physical therapists to bring the in home spa experience right to your door, no matter if it’s your home or set. Andréa has always been a connector and her business is built on that. She brings your vision to life and pretty much delivers anything you may need.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Creativity, consistency, and confidence. If you don’t believe it, no-one will. Rejection is redirection. Learn that. Always have an open mind and be willing to learn. When you’re always learning, you’re always winning. But also, know your worth and work on your vision so much, that you see how it can benefit others and grow. When you have confidence in what you’re building, it’s bound to succeed. Stay the course and be true to yourself. When you have integrity in all that you do, success is bound to come.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My mother raised me not to depend on anyone but myself. She raised me to work hard and to be independent. It was tough at times, but it was the greatest gift she could’ve ever given me. Because when you stand on your own two feet, you’re free. As a woman we are often taught the opposite. I don’t think there is any way I would’ve survived in the industry I’m in nor would’ve been able to build my own company without this mindset. She believed in me, and raised me with a ton of confidence. She made sure I worked hard for everything I had and she made sure I was dedicated when it came to my craft. There were no short cuts, so everything I had success in, I earned. Luck is when opportunity meets preparation. and when you’re prepared, you’re confident. She always made sure I was prepared. I know that helped a ton too. We all deserve that support. And even though I lost her, I held onto the values she instilled in me. I’m blessed to have had her in my life for the short time I did. Because what she gave me, no one can ever take away from me.
