We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Andreanet a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andreanet, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence and self-esteem developed through embracing my individuality and the Gothic style, which allows me to express myself authentically. At first, stepping into a niche like Gothic modeling on social media was daunting, but I learned to see it as a form of art where I could be unapologetically myself. By connecting with a community that shares a similar love for dark aesthetics, I found strength in vulnerability, and over time, I became more comfortable with showcasing my work. Each post, photo shoot, and interaction helped build my confidence as I realized the power of owning who I am. Now, I see my style as a reflection of my inner strength, and that’s what fuels my self-esteem.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an alternative content creator and model, my passion lies in supporting indie brands that resonate with the darker side of fashion and art. I’ve always believed that independent creators bring something raw and authentic to the table, which is why collaborating with them is both exciting and fulfilling for me. Through my work, I aim to showcase unique, bold designs that break away from mainstream trends while highlighting the beauty of individuality within the Gothic aesthetic.
What makes this journey so special is the ability to connect with like-minded creators and audiences who appreciate this niche style. Every shoot or project is a form of artistic expression, where I get to bring a brand’s vision to life in a way that resonates with my audience. Whether I’m creating content for a new line of Gothic apparel or promoting handmade accessories, my focus is always on elevating the artistry of indie brands.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about expanding my collaborations and continuing to work with passionate designers and creators. I’m also exploring new formats and ideas to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the Gothic fashion scene, ensuring that every project remains fresh and impactful.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I believe three key qualities have been the most impactful in my journey as an actor, model, and influencer:
1. **Authenticity**: Being true to myself, especially in a niche like dark fashion, has allowed me to connect deeply with my audience. People are drawn to authenticity, and staying true to my aesthetic and personal style has set me apart in the industry. My advice to others is to embrace what makes you unique, as that will be your greatest strength.
2. **Adaptability**: In such a dynamic field, being open to learning and adapting has been crucial. Whether it’s learning new skills in front of the camera or navigating changing trends on social media, staying flexible has helped me grow. I recommend that others remain curious, always be willing to evolve, and not shy away from challenges or new opportunities.
3. **Networking**: Building relationships within the creative community has been essential. Collaborating with indie brands, other creators, and photographers has expanded my opportunities. I encourage others to invest time in fostering genuine connections, as those relationships can be pivotal to your growth and success.
For anyone early in their journey, I’d say: stay true to who you are, be open to new experiences, and always value the people you meet along the way.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My husband, Rafael Vargas, has been my biggest supporter and partner in crime throughout this entire journey. Not only is he my photographer and producer, but he’s also my best friend and number one fan. He’s the one behind the camera, making sure every shot captures the essence of my vision while bringing his own creative flair. We often joke that he can practically read my mind at this point!
What makes it even more special is how we’ve grown together as a team. Whether it’s a last-minute photo shoot idea or figuring out the technical side of things, Rafael is always there to help me tackle any challenge. He’s got an incredible eye for detail, and his endless encouragement keeps me motivated. Plus, it’s a lot of fun when your partner in life is also your partner in work—you never run out of things to laugh about during a shoot!
