Andrew, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I found my confidence and self-esteem through failure. Starting a business is tough and many people give up after a few roadblocks. However, I have found that the key to building confidence and self-esteem is by failing and trying again and again. By learning from my previous mistakes, I was able to gain some small wins and boost my confidence. Overtime these small wins help make me more and more confident and eventually it allowed me to overcome my fear of failing and to keep grinding forward.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I created the XOTIQ Stripper Company to help provide high quality entertainers for bachelor and bachelorette parties around the country. It is something that I am passionate about and I believe there is a need to reliable entertainers. People usually get married once in their lifetimes so a healthy bachelorette or bachelor party is a great way to celebrate. However not many people are familiar with the process of hiring an entertainer and we aim to make it as seamless and easy as possible.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities that were most impactful were resilience, determination and the ability to keep learning. Resilience is important because there is no roadmap on how to build a business. People usually have an idea but there are always unforeseen obstacles that come up and that can make or break an entrepreneur. Many times there are multiple obstacles and it can be very demoralizing. As an entrepreneur, it is important to be resilient in tough times. Determination is another factor that plays an important role. It is easy to give up and try something else when times get tough but those that stay the course and stick it out are the ones who are successful. Many people dabble here and there and never focus – it is important to stay determined. The ability to keep learning is also very impactful. There are new things to learn everyday, even if they are small things. Learning new things allow knowledge to compound which is very powerful.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The ability to keep going even when times get tough is probably the most helpful in overcoming challenges. It is very easy to give up when things get challenging and many people pivot to other industries only just to fail and pivot again. However, when you step back and take a break, sometimes the solution finds you. It is easy to burn out so I always try to remember to stay the course and never give up.
