Meet Angel Hart

We recently connected with Angel Hart and have shared our conversation below.

Angel, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Purpose was something that I had long run from…practically from the time I recognized what my purpose was. For me, purpose looked like helping others, particularly black woman and girls. I have been noted from others as one that is strong and who sets examples for other people and the way to live. Because imperfection lies in me, I never saw it that way through my own eyes. At first, I didnt look at my ability to write as one that was going to be anything other than an outlet for me to express how I felt in my moments or need, or loneliness or when the world surrounding me was too much to handle. That changed when I started to hone in on my gift and perfect it. I have had tons of people to tell me that they were affected by the works that I have presented in their presence.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I started writing when I was a little girl and learned quickly that it was my passion. The art of expression through poetry and spoken word has led me to three digital albums of and work, work in publications as well as performing on many platforms. I am introverted in my personality, but I become a whole new person when it comes time to present my art. I pride my work of everyday life and experiences and also words that will empower a new generation of leaders and thinkers. As a black woman, I have a deep affinity for my people. O have learned how to capture the joys and pains of our stories and presnt them so that all that hear, can understand. Whether you are eight or 80, my goal is to write in such a way that the reader/hearer will become inspired and they are hope-filled.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I had to conquer my own fears about releasing my work, in order to get it out to the world. I first had to hone my skill by expanding my vocabulary. I wanted to make sure that in order to not be repetitive in my work, that I had new words to play with. I had to be clear in my articulation by continued practicing and recording to improve on my skills of diction and pronunciation. I always set aside proper time to work on my craft.

Anything that is worth having is definitely worth fighting for. When you find something that you love and know that you are purposed to do, you become mandated to work on it until you receive the end result that you are looking for.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I love collaborating with others. In fact, I have a whole collaboration effort that was created during the pandemic! I love to work with those in different generations as they bring different perspectives on how they see the world. I would love to collab with anyone who works on spoken word or song writing, and just wants to vibe out…but only if you’re serious! Time is a precious commodity.
