Hi Angel , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic came from passion. When you’re doing something you love you put everything into it. Which makes it feel like it’s more fun that actually doing a job. It’s something you can’t get enough of , the hard work feels good. It’s even more special that only a select few can do what you do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an athlete and entrepreneur. I’m started playing basketball at 8 years old and the rest is history. Basketball has taken me places I could never imagine. All over the world. I knew basketball can’t last foreve because we all get older so I knew I had to have a back up plan. I had to figure out what else I like. I fell Inlove with creating thing. I’m a creator. I love making İcecream which birthed my İcecream shop “mccoughtrys icecream” . I love creating music. I have 3 albums out and my music speaks about different life lesion with a catchy run people love. I was the first wnba player to have a song on the nba 2 k video game . I also have my first movie coming out called “Lanier movie. I love suspense movies so this movie is suspenseful but also highlighting some things that really happened at the lake. I’m getting into acting as well. I love to perform.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities or skills that I would acknowledge is : Be easy to work with
Speak your mind in a professional manner
Be confident. If you don’t have it, go find it
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Right now in my life the number one obstacle I’m facing is trying to finish my basketball career. My last few years have been very rocky. I learned patience. Leaning on that higher power, mine is God. And never giving up.
People will always have an opinion about the way things should be. But always follow your gut and what speaks to your spirit
