Meet Angel Thornton

We recently connected with Angel Thornton and have shared our conversation below.

Angel, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity was birthed from my childhood. I grew up in an environment where my parents took care of their responsibility but were not present in a way that I needed them. So it make me happy to be able to express generosity to others and to be the person that show up for them in a way that they need. By definition there are 7 forms of generosity; thoughts, words, money, time, things, influence, and attention. My parents showed their generosity through money and things but lacked in the other departments. Also I’m a very intunitive person, so I can feel and pick up things from others. I know exactly what they need when I meet them and if I’m able to express whatever generous act they need and it doesn’t hurt me then I’m willing.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Angel Thornton and I am the owner of Playhouse Beauty Salon. I am also a licensed Cosmetologist, Traveling and Film Hairstylist. What I feel is most exciting about my career is being able to make women feel beautiful, educating clients about their hair and teaching other stylists. Playhouse Beauty Growth Serum is my baby, it is a product that help promote hair growth and fight against dry scalp. My newest project that I am most excited about is releasing my ebook, which will help hairstylist grow as a stylist and increase their clientele.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were hard-working, consistency and gratitude. When you are growing through a process, it’s easy to become doubtful and second guess yourself. I did it a bunch of times. When a negative thought came to mind I would use that energy and push myself to work harder. Whenever I get comfortable or even a little ungrateful, I would remind myself to treat each client like it’s my first client. I say that because when you get your first paying client you are extremely grateful and appreciative of their support, so you do your absolute best. Whether it’s your first or 100th client, you should always be consistent with your work and the experience you provide. I also say it because as your career grow and your clientele expand it is easy to become egotistic. Hard work, consistency and gratitude keep me balanced.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to collaborate, whether it be for a project, outreach program, or creative idea. I love dipping my toes in different projects. The best way to reach me is by email @ playhousebeauty@yahoo.com or instagram @playhousebeauty.
