Meet Angela Bobal

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angela Bobal . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angela below.

Angela , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Adapt and overcome has been the name of the game for me.

I had very hardworking parents who instilled a strong work ethic early on.
I had great examples.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, we totally reinvented ourselves. We had to come up with some techniques to save our small business.
Three years later, those techniques have ended up being a staple in how we continue to run our business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
One of the most unique things about our brand is that we actually create most of the things we sell in our store. I’ve been in the skin/bath/body industry since 1998.
I have what I like to call a “working boutique.” We are in there daily making most of the things that you see on our shelves. So though there are times I am behind the check out….most of the time I’m coming up from the back, where my workroom is.
Our scents change weekly. So every week that you walk into the store new fragrances and new products await!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience Dedication
Staying true to myself

I LOVE my craft. That love goes into every product I create. I am so passionate about what I do.

Advice I would give others.
Be true to YOU. Keep pushing forward.
Don’t listen to the neighsayers. It is brave to own a business, remember that.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
I would say an obstacle I am always facing is balance. When you run a small business and are also a maker…..it is so easy to work CONSTANTLY. I am lucky in the fact that I really do have my dream job, but it is very demanding. I am learning to let go of a little control and let others help me.
Burnout is a real thing.
