Meet Angela Dotson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Angela Dotson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I’ve always had a passion for cooking and seeing the enjoyment people showed when they were eating. I’ve been cooking for over 20 years. Cooking was a form of therapy for me. When I was happy, I would make a feast and invite everyone over. When I was having a bad day, I would make one of my favorite dishes to enjoy. I’ve always known cooking was what I wanted to do, I take pride in preparing and cooking. Also, cooking was a way to get everyone together, it gave our family and friends something to look forward to.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the CEO of Simply Satisfying Mobile Eats food truck. I am very passionate about my business. I did a lot of researched on opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant for awhile but decided that a food truck restaurant was the best option for me. I’ve always wanted to make sure I am serving quality food so I prepare and cook everything myself to ensure that. As my business grow, I plan to have multiple food trucks to service different cities and states. I will also service our urban communities that are not as fortunate to ensure everyone is able to experience Simply Satisfying Mobile Eats

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First and foremost I am a consumer as well as a business owner so I always use the motto to treat everyone with quality service and excellent customer service. I am very bubbly and I want that energy to be contagious!

The second thing that I would recommend focusing on is taking care of and keeping a solid staff, that is imperative. Your business will flourish with a strong and mighty staff. I have not been in business very long but because I meet with my team before every event and we get there and exceed expectations.

Last but not least, trust and believe in yourself….YOU CAN DO IT! Consistency, hard work and dedication will lead you to success.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Starting in unfamiliar and unknown territory, when I feel overwhelmed I make sure that I take a day and allow myself a mental break and give myself boundaries. I am extremely blessed to have such a strong support system. All praises to God for being there with my through this journey.
