Meet Angela Grant

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angela Grant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Angela, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose from undergoing a ton of trial and error. For years I sat on desks, yearning for more, hoping for more and ultimately trusting my gut to leave the comfy positions I had, and search for it – however challenging that proved to be. I would say my intuition was the one constant that guided me the most. I felt unfulfilled in the corporate life and knew that my full talents were not being utilized. I found a coaching program that ultimately helped me define my values, something I had never really dived too deeply into and from there, I found a shortcut to my purpose – which ultimately included both coaching and managing content creators. It turned out to be an extension of everything I had learned in my career, adding in some organization and coaching elements and from there – attracting the right people into my circle.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

On a day to day basis, I run a talent agency called Outloud Talent. I oversee the managers on the team as well as manage a handful of creators independently. I love my job because I am constantly working with new brands and there is never a dull or boring day. I love to coach creators, be their cheerleader and help them through the many challenges that a campaign can create (from start to finish). I advocate hard for my creators and having spent so much time on the brand side of things, I feel I have an innate ability to talk with brands and creators in a language the understand, value and appreciate. I love to mentor and love helping new managers become great ones as well.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the most valuable things I’ve learned in my career are:
1. Success unshared is failure.
2. Always go above and beyond
3. There are no mistakes in life – only lessons.

My advice for people up and coming in this business is that it takes an army to create success. There truly is no I in team and you only succeed if your team is succeeding. Also, defining what success means to you is essential. For me, it’s not about money. It’s about making sure everyone who is working with you feels appreciated, heard and valued. Always show up and do your best – go the extra mile when you can – this kind of work ethic and commitment will not go unnoticed. It will help impact your career in ways that will surprise you and you’ll have no regrets when you look back. Everyday I am learning something new. If you look at your “mistakes” as lessons, you can never truly fail – only learn and grow and get better every day.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Our team is always looking for new creators to bring into our creator family. If you value transparency, want a team who will truly strive to understand you and will always have your back, we’d love to have a conversation with you. Ofcourse we do look for creators to meet a certain minimum before considering management but because we see value in all types of creators, we are open to working with people who we feel confident in and are willing to put in the hours to help get you there as well.
