We were lucky to catch up with Angela Landeros recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is rooted in purpose-helping others has been the greatest reminder of my own strength.
The Roots of My Resilience
Resilience isn’t something you wake up one day and decide to have. For me, it was planted early — in the soil of hard work, family, and the quiet determination I witnessed as a child.
I grew up watching my grandparents run small businesses and build the kind of life they wanted for their family. They didn’t wait for opportunity to knock; they created it. They owned the things they wanted not out of greed, but to make memories — to gather family, share meals, and build something worth passing down. That work ethic became part of my foundation.
From my parents, I learned a different kind of resilience — one built on compassion and courage. They raised foster children alongside their own biological kids, often facing challenges that would have broken many families. There were struggles, sacrifices, and moments that tested everyone, but my parents never gave up on those children. Watching them fight to keep those kids in our home taught me that everyone deserves a chance, and that love sometimes means standing firm through the storm.
As a child, I faced my own battles. Health issues forced me to grow up fast and learn how to persevere. By the time I reached adulthood, I understood that resilience wasn’t just about surviving — it was about adapting, learning, and continuing to move forward, even when the path is steep.
Years later, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that can be both unpredictable and physically limiting. It would have been easy to let that diagnosis define me, but instead, it became another reason to fight harder. My work as a massage therapist became both my passion and my therapy — a way to channel healing energy, to give others relief even on days when I needed some myself.
Through the years, I developed my own massage techniques, wrote two books — one about autoimmune disease and the role of diet and lifestyle, and another about the specialized massage methods I created through experience and experimentation. I then expanded my business into the Woodland Hills area, surrounding myself with like-minded therapists who share my mission of creating healing and inclusivity.
Resilience, I’ve learned, is not about being unshakable. It’s about showing up — again and again — with purpose. It’s about believing that even in pain or uncertainty, there is still a reason to build, to serve, to love, and to grow.
Today, I am proud to be a business owner who not only helps clients feel better but also provides a safe, diverse, and supportive place for massage therapists to work and thrive. Every challenge I’ve faced — from childhood to adulthood, from illness to entrepreneurship — has shaped me into who I am.
Resilience is the thread that ties it all together. It’s what drives me to keep going, keep learning, and keep helping others heal — one session, one connection, one day at a time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Resilience has always been the thread running through my life — not just as a personal strength, but as a purpose. Every challenge I’ve faced has led me here: to create a massage therapy company built on compassion, healing, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel better in their own body.
That is where my entrepreneurial purpose comes in. I founded my massage therapy business with one clear mission: to help anybody in pain feel better. Whether it’s an athlete recovering from intense training, an overworked mom trying to find a moment of peace, or someone who spends long days behind a desk, my goal is the same — to provide relief, healing, and balance.
We like to think that what we do goes beyond physical touch. It’s about creating a space where people can let go — a space where their body and mind can finally take a breath. We work on what I like to call “tissue issues,” helping clients release tension, recover mobility, and find calm in a world that rarely slows down.
Self-care is at the heart of everything I do. It’s what allowed me to survive and thrive through my own challenges, and it’s what I now teach others through every massage, every conversation, every healing session. I’ve learned that taking care of ourselves is not selfish — it’s essential. It’s the foundation that allows us to show up stronger for others.
Today, my company continues to grow — not just as a business, but as a community. I’m proud to provide a safe, inclusive workplace for massage therapists who share my passion for helping others. Together, we are building something bigger than ourselves: a space of healing, connection, and resilience.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what my story — and my business — is really about: turning personal resilience into a ripple effect of healing for others.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Perseverance doesn’t mean never feeling tired or discouraged — it means showing up anyway. When things get hard, take smaller steps, but don’t stop moving forward. Progress is built on consistency, not perfection. Every day you keep going, you’re strengthening the muscle of resilience.
Let your “why” lead your work. When your purpose is clear, creativity flows naturally because you’re building from passion, not pressure. Don’t be afraid to experiment, to make mistakes, or to take your unique perspective and turn it into something new. That’s how innovation — and fulfillment — are born.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Collaboration in Healing
As I look toward the future, I see resilience not just as a personal trait, but as a collective strength — something that grows when people and businesses come together with a shared purpose. My goal is to continue expanding our ability to help others feel better, and I believe collaboration is the next step in that journey.
I would love to partner with other professionals and businesses who share a passion for healing and wellness — sports medicine clinics, chiropractic offices, wellness centers, and med spas. Together, we can create a more comprehensive network of care for our clients, supporting their physical and mental well-being from multiple angles.
By connecting our services, we can reach more people — the athletes striving for peak performance, the everyday mom juggling countless responsibilities, and the office worker sitting behind a desk all day. Collaboration allows us to provide them with the complete care they deserve: recovery, relaxation, and renewal.
My vision is to continue building bridges within the wellness community — to work side by side with like-minded professionals who believe, as I do, that healing the body can also heal the mind. Together, we can amplify our impact and bring a stronger, more connected sense of well-being to the people we serve.
