Meet Angela Martinez

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angela Martinez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angela below.

Angela, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I always thought finding your life purpose was some BS you only see in movies or a dream only available to the rich. I struggled most of my life, working 3 jobs, just to have nothing to show for it. After moving across country and realizing nothing was changing, I decided to create my new beginning. I started my podcast 4 years ago and it has changed my life tremendously. I started meeting people who exuded confidence, who woke up intentionally with a purpose for their day, who didn’t let anything hinder their plan to succeed. After interviewing major influencers in the creative and wellness spaces, I was so intrigued with their inner peace, I had no choice but to start my own journey. Since doing multiple energy and plant therapies over the years, I feel like this year I have begun to truly heal my deepest wounds and break long term conditioned patterns. Whether you need plant based, life changing supplements or a good therapy session, my brand will take you deep into mental, physical, financial and spiritual wellness with the tools and resources you need to succeed. I never thought I would be helping others. Before starting my healing journey, I was very cold, selfish and unemotional to life. I used to bartend for over a decade and I remember thinking, “This can’t be my purpose. As good as I am at interacting with people and serving others, there’s gotta be a better way.” And here I am. Im a natural healer and I will continue to do my self work so I can continue to be a vessel for others on their never ending journey to healing so they can live the life they deserve.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Learn Discipline-Motivation is cool and all, but we all have days where motivation isn’t getting you out of bed. Creating discipline early in life is a game changer. Reading books to learn new, healthy habits every day and continuing to do them is called consistency. These two go hand in hand. Maybe you dont want to work out every day, but after consistently seeing results you like, you will learn to be disciplined enough to kick yourself in the butt and get it done on schedule. Putting time aside daily to complete your project you’ve been putting off is disciplining your brain to focus. Researching to eat foods that will heal you from within and then cooking meals for yourself is disciplining your body to accept a new lifestyle. Take it day by day, this is not an overnight change, but it is well worth it if you want it bad enough.

2. Have Persistence-You can’t beat a person who never gives up; who shows up every day, even if there’s no immediate benefit. Persistence is not giving up on yourself no matter how bad your situation is, no matter how broke you are, no matter how alone you may feel, no matter how many people turn you down. If you give up, you lose. Stay persistent in all that you do and IT WILL PAY OFF. Its science. Keep going, keep growing. Most importantly, you need to believe you deserve the best possible life. This is the key to get you past your darkest moments. We all deserve what we’re willing to put the work in for. Dont give up on yourself.

3. Be Open-Minded-Being from Jersey, you could say the sky is blue and I would argue that it’s periwinkle. We always have the last word, think our way or the highway and never leave our mental prison of one size fits all. But after starting my show, I had no choice but to become open minded. I mean, Im interviewing people that travel dimensions and heal “incurable” diseases cmon! 4 years later, and Im wired completely different. I see facts for facts, I see people for people, and being open to new experiences has truly changed my body and brain chemistry. Opening my mind has led me to experience major energy therapies, Ayahuasca, travel the world and start my brands that positively affect the globe. I love learning new things every day and soaking up new information and resources like a sponge. Being open minded has allowed me to heal myself and everyone around me. The earlier you can get out of your mental box, the better your life will become. Enjoy the journey!

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Ive been a bookworm since I was very young. I would get 10 books from the library and come back to return and get a new set the next week. It was a big escape for me from a tumultuous life. As I got older and went into survival mode, I fell off the habit but have since picked it up over the past couple years. I dont think I can pick just one book that has helped me.

1. Outwitting the Devil-This is probably my favorite book from Napoleon Hill. It reveals all the ways the world tries to hinder your development mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. It brings all the BS conditioning our country has put on us to light. It told me things I already knew and solidified my journey to heal. It’s a game changer for anyone who needs proof we are living in the matrix.

2. The Audacity to Be Queen-This book is for anyone who wants to be a badass in business and life. The East Coast author sounds like we could be best friends from the way she keeps it raw and unapologetically real. As women and people in general, we sometimes feel we are not worthy of true success, of true happiness, of true abundance. That mindset is exactly why most of the population will never fulfill their life purpose or enjoy a life of peace and prosperity. This book was a great insight to the struggles of being your own team and pushing through the constant obstacles life throws at us.

3.Journey of Souls-Im really bad with death. Although it’s imminent, Ive never been good with grief. I think because I’ve always been so emotionally detached that when I do get close to someone and they die, I feel deeply, internally broken. This book has helped me understand life after death and what our loved ones experience after they leave us. Numerous stories of those crossing the rainbow bridge in near death experiences, hypnosis or reincarnation have painted a picture of another world we never knew existed. It has helped me heal knowing my loved ones have something far greater to experience than this hell on Earth we’re currently in.
